cuddled up in the thick blanket of the hospital, jeongguk was watching a random korean drama on the tv, his 5 hours marathon getting interrupted when it suddenly knocked on the door and he raised an eyebrow, questioning who it could be at this late hour, since a nurse just left five minutes ago.

a surprised expression formed on his features, when he watched taehyung's small frame enter through the door, a backpack on his shoulders, a shy smile on his lips as he closed the door behind him again.

"what are you doing here?" jeongguk asked, still surprised, sitting up a little.

taehyung walked over to jeongguk, taking a place right next to the bed on a chair. "i just couldn't sleep and wanted to see you."

jeongguk put the drama on pause and turned to taehyung, eyeing him worriedly. "you shouldn't go out alone in the middle of the night, bub. it's dangerous, you're still really young-

"it's alright. there were enough lights on the streets and the hospital isn't far from home. and honestly, i didn't care" he shrugged.

that didn't ease jeongguk's worry at all. "are you sure? wasn't it cold?"

"no. i'm fine, look!" he smiled, doing a small twirl.

jeongguk sighed, "i'm glad nothing happened to you, but don't do this again. call my brother next time. he or jin hyung would always pick you up."

taehyung just shook his head. "it's fine, i'm okay. i'm healthy and happy, i told you." taehyung giggled, but jeongguk didn't find this funny at all, eyebrows lightly furrowed. "i'm serious though, don't do this."

the younger's expression dropped and he rolled his eyes. "fine, i won't. is there space next to you?"

letting his guard down, jeongguk finally smiled too and scooted more to the side, giving taehyung space to sit next to him on the bed. "for you always."

taehyung climbed up there, sighing contented when he leaned back. "it's so warm next to you."

"because i'm hot," jeongguk mocked. taehyung scoffed. "sure you are."

"you're really bratty evenings," jeongguk pointed out. taehyung looked surprised at first, then down. "i'm sorry, i don't mean to.."

noticing how his exclamation made the younger feel, jeongguk shook his head, hair bouncing with his moves. "no, that's not what i mean. this bratty side is cute," he said, making taehyung's cheeks light up in a sweet shade of crimson.

he had never received as much compliments in his entire life as jeongguk gave him only in this few months of them knowing each other.

"why couldn't you sleep?" jeongguk questioned softly. he knows taehyung sometimes has bad dreams, but he didn't sleep at all today, so there was no way he dreamed.

leaves only option number two- there was something else that kept his thoughts running and body sleepless.

taehyung smiled sadly, as he slid down into a laying position. jeongguk just stayed sitting, as he was planing on watching some more tv, as for taehyung, the boy has school the next day and should sleep soon.

taehyung snuggled up to jeongguk's side. "jimin is moving out of town."

jeongguk's eyes widened and he gave the smaller a sympathetic look. taehyung often talks about jimin, his best friend, his soulmate. even without knowing him personally, jeongguk knew a lot about him now. and he also knows how much taehyung is hanging on this friend.

the only friend he has in school.

"i'm sorry, bub."

taehyung shrugged. "it'll be fine. we can still face time and text everyday and we can also make visits and stuff. we'll get there, i guess."

"everything will be fine. you have me now." jeongguk chuckled and taehyung smiled lightly.

"you are as important to me, gguk."

that made jeongguk hold in for a second, before he smiled, warmth running through him. "yeah, you also grew really important to me," the ravenette confessed.

taehyung smiled. "there's a problem now though... i have no excuses to sleep here now. i always said that i'm over at jimin's when i was with you." the worry and fear was hearable in his small voice.

jeongguk thought for a moment. "just tell your grandma about me. you don't have to mention that you were involved into the car accident."

"she'd wanna meet you then," he chuckled.

jeongguk smiled. "she can come and visit. i wouldn't mind getting to know her."

nervously, taehyung's bottom lip found its way between his teeth. "i'll think about it. she can be really extra sometimes, so yeah, brace yourself."

"don't worry, i'm prepared. take her with you next time." taehyung hummed, then yawned lightly. jeongguk looked at him fondly, sitting just a little more down, so he was practically lying, but his upper body wasn't.

almost immediately, taehyung wrapped his arm around jeongguk's waist, snuggling closer to him. "i'm tired."

"close your eyes, then."

taehyung held onto him tighter. "good night, bunny."

"sleep well." jeongguk put the series back on and watched the tv, at the same time brushing his hand through taehyung's hair.

next day

even though he was a good, almost perfect student, taehyung always used to despise school. but now he hated it just more. all he wanted to do, is end it quickly so that he has more time to spend with jeongguk.

today, he was impatient to leave school, not to go and visit jeongguk, but his grandma. he decided on telling her about jeongguk, without mentioning the car accident. maybe a stairs accident? sounds good.

"nana, i've been actually lying to you..." taehyung began. he decided on at least emptying his stomach from a little guilt.

"okay, honey. it won't be that bad." ayeong said reassuringly, as she continued cutting a red bell pepper for dinner.

taehyung sighed, standing next to her and watching her moves. "this whole month over, i haven't slept over at jimin's. once maybe.."

the woman widened her eyes, dropping the knife as she turned to the boy. "oh my god baby, where have you been? is everything alright?"

"yes, i'm fine. don't worry, i just always visited someone in the hospital," he admitted, getting quieter.

"who is that someone? do i know that person?" he hated to hear his grandma worrying about him like this. "i don't think you do. his name is jeongguk, he's already 18. he... fell of the stairs in school and i witnessed it? something like that. and i thought he was pretty alone in the hospital, so i stayed with him and we became friends..."

ayeong looked at him. "18...? is he handsome?"

taehyung nodded lightly. jeongguk was the most handsomest boy he had ever seen if being honest. "yeah, pretty much."

he ignored the eyebrow wiggling of his grandma. "so, is he gay?" taehyung gasped, "nana, we're just friends! and he's straight." he rolled his eyes.

"that's disappointing." taehyung's grandma pouted and taehyung tried to ignore it.

"can i visit him too?"

taehyung smiled. "he has nothing against it."
