<next morning>
(Third person P. O. V)
It was a quiet morning. Dec was having a wash in the hospital's washrooms whilst Neil was having a wash himself with help from a nurse.

[In Neil's room]
(Dec's P. O. V)
As I came back in the room with breakfast for me and Neil, I saw Neil smiling and giggling at something on his phone. So I curiously but kindly asked.
"What's so funny Neil?"
"Haydn, he's been texting me to see if I'm alright and is jealous of me having a cast on my arm." Neil replied whilst giggling.
"Oh he's jealous, is he? Maybe he'll change his mind when he starts asking you if he can sign it." I kindly advised as I set the food bag on the bedside table.
After putting the bag down, I noticed Neil wearing a baggy red T-shirt and grey bottoms and it reminded me of Ant a bit when he was Neil's age.
"Something wrong Mr Donnelly?" Neil started asking me.
"Sorry Neil, it's nothing. It's just you remained me of Ant a bit when he was your age in those clothes." I gently reassured.
"Really?" Neil chuckled.
"Yeah you do," I then chuckled, "Now how about some breakfast? Bet you're hungry?"
Neil eagerly nodded his head meaning yes. So once I got him properly sat up, I went into the bag and gave Neil a chocolate croissant which made him really happy.
"I thought this would make you happy." I happy said.
"Thanks Mr Donnelly." Neil gratefully replied.
I smiled and gave him a ruffle on his hair. After giving him a glass of water and sitting on the side of the bed, both he and I had a breakfast.
After we ate our breakfast, the doctor came in and kindly greeted.
"Good morning Mr Donnelly, Good morning Neil, how are you feeling this morning?"
"Good morning doctor, is something wrong?" I kindly but concernedly greeted.
"No Mr Donnelly, I'm here to check on young Neil's chest drain and the rest of his injuries." The doctor kindly reassured.
"Oh right, sorry." I politely apologised.
The doctor understood and started to do her checks on Neil. After she was done doing the checks, I kindly tucked the sheets and blankets back round Neil.
"Well Neil," The doctor began saying, "I can happily say that your concussion is slowly starting to clear up but you've still got a long way to go on the road of recovery."
Neil pouted which made me smile a bit. Just then the doctor carried on saying.
"The other thing I would like for you to do Neil whilst you're recovering is to have a chat with the therapist, that is if you want to?"
Neil went quiet after the doctor was finished. But before I could say anything, Neil looked at me and quietly asked.
"Do you think I should Mr Donnelly?"
"In my opinion Neil, I think you should but it's entirely up to you." I honestly replied.
Neil had a think to himself for a few minutes. After thinking to himself, he then honestly said.
"Yeah, I do want to see the therapist."
"Ok then sweetheart. I'll go and arrange it for you now." The doctor sweetly said then left.
Soon as she left, I gave Neil's hand a gentle squeeze and proudly said.
"Well done Neil, I'm very proud of you and I know Ant and Anne Marie will be proud too."
"Thanks Mr Donnelly, that means a lot." Neil gratefully said whilst getting a bit tearful.
"You're welcome." I happily replied.
Just then Neil honestly but suggestively said.
"If you want Mr Donnelly, you can go and see Mr McPartlin. You don't have to stay with me when the therapist comes."
"Are you sure Neil?" I honestly asked.
"Yeah I'm sure," Neil honestly replied, "and when you see him, can you tell him I'm missing him?"
I smiled when he asked. I gently placed my hand on his cheek and gently but sweetly whispered.
"Don't worry, I will."
Neil the gave me the biggest smile ever. The two of us then hugged and the remainder of the morning, I kept telling Neil something of thing Ant and I did when we were teenagers.

As Dec sat next to Ant's bedside, he let a sad and deep sigh. Looking at state Ant was in just broke Dec's heart.
"I'm sorry mate," Dec quietly apologised, "I should've wait till there was a spot next to your car in the car park."
Just then to Dec's surprise, Ali came in with a tired look on her and sweetly greeted.
"Hey love."
"Hey darling, nice to see you." Dec happily greeted back.
Soon as Ali sat next to him, Dec sensed that something was wrong with her. So he concernedly asked.
"You alright love?"
"Yeah I'm fine, I've had a terrible morning sorting out the press and everything from what happened yesterday." Ali honestly replied.
"Oh dear." Dec asked in a worried tone.
"I've got good news though," Ali honestly began saying, "The good news is there's now a reschedule court date for Neil's father's trial."
"Ok that's good but have the police managed to find out on why Neil's father was in the park or where he's been hiding?" Dec concernedly asked.
"Sadly no," Ali honestly replied, "from what I was told from a police officer, who came to your mum house, that Neil's father has no regret on attacking Ant or the abuse he did to Neil."
Dec was furious after hearing what Ali had just said. Just then, Dec heard Ali asking.
"How's Neil by the way?".
"He's fine," Dec then answered, "he's having a chat with the hospital's therapist."
"So is it true then? Does the doctor really think that Neil's got PTSD from what you said in your text?" Ali concernedly asked whilst leaning her head on Dec's shoulder.
"Yeah she does. She says that it is sometimes caused by child abuse and going by what he's been through, she was positive that he does have it." Dec honestly answered.
"Poor Neil." Ali sadly whispered.
As the two of them carried on watching Ant, they both felt sad for him and for Neil.
"I really do hope the man gets what he deserves for what's he's done to Ant and Neil." Ali gently said.
"I agree with you love," Dec said whilst sighing, "fingers crossed he does get what he deserves, Neil really does to move on from all of this."
"Yeah he really does and so does Ant." Ali quietly added.
The two of them carried on watching Ant but were both worried about the trial.
