Time jump:

It was a weekend and the team was off. Which meant I had all day to enjoy it being just me. Still, I did miss the team and I wanted to see Ziva. Make sure she and her children were truly fine.

"So, still haven't picked out a mate?" Eyal asked Charlie.

At the moment Nathan and Eyal were interrogating Charlie and his love life. From what Nathan has told me, Charlie has never been seen with a female. No pups of his own either. The man has led his pack ever since he was 15. Took over this land at only 18 years old. Beaten anyone or anything that has attempted to take it from him.

Charlie shook his head. "No."

"Any particular reason?" Nathan asked.

The wolf suddenly had a painful look. His eyes becoming vacant. "The one female I was to mate was killed. Her family had an agreement with my pack in uniting the pack. A few days before the ceremony, I needed to handle some out-of-town business." He was no longer in the room with them. His mind wandering to that day. "Came back to find out her pack had been massacred. She and her family along with it. My pack had tried to save her, but by the time they had gotten there, she was dead. We noticed a few other pack mates had disappeared, but we never found who did it."

Okay, this was getting too depressing. "Nathan, I am going out for a while."

"Where too?"

Grabbing my coat, I pulled him in for a quick kiss. "I want to stop by with the team."

"Alex, you are not shifted." Nathan stated. "What excuse are you going to use?"

I had completely forgotten about that. "Eyal?"

"Yeah?"

"You have lunch plans with Ziva?"

Eyal frowned, giving me a slight nod. "Yes, I have to pick her..." He glanced at his watch. "Right now. Shit."

"Mind if I tag along?" I asked.

He shared a look with Nathan, getting a shrug. "Don't look at me man. I have no say over her doings."

I quirked a brow. "Were you asking him for permission?"

"No! Of course not." Eyal yelped. "Yeah, you can come along."

"Not that I required your approval anyways." Giving Nathan another quick kiss, I snatched his keys and walked out.

Eyal huffed. "Of all the females in the world, you had to pick the most sarcastic one."

"I like a bit of spice in my mate." Nathan laughed. "Besides, she's just as bad as Ziva."

"Well yes, but z-"

I jogged back into the cabin to find them all staring at me. "Can you two compare Ziva and I on your own time? Eyal, let go!"

Nathan's laugh was heard as we walked back out. "Should have said no!"

Nathan:

"Can I ask you something?" Charlie asked.

Nathan nodded. "Sure, what is it?"

"What the deal with the Agent and your mate?" Charlie asked. "When I first met them, she made it clear he was to not be touched. I know she's his mate, but is she not mates to you?"

Nathan took in a deep breath. "You noticed that." Pushing himself off the couch, Nathan walked over to the bar cart. "Alex had a rather unique way of meeting Gibbs. Which you pretty much know. Well, the cliff notes that is." He handed the alpha a glass of whiskey.
