I have no excuse for not posting yesterday other than that I just wasn't feeling it, but this chapter is nearly half as long to make up for it lol

The next morning, (Y/n) woke up very peacefully. She changed into new clothes and got ready for the morning. It was quiet. Very quiet. (Y/n) looked out the window, surprised to see that it was still fairly early in the morning. She greeted everyone at the table, surprised by the small commotion. "(Y/n)! (Y/n)! Look, I shot my first deer!" yelped Tommy as he ran into the house with Philza following behind. "It was a woman too! Can you believe it?" he shouted, unnecessarily loud.

(Y/n) winced at his volume. "Ah, yes, good job Tommy," she said, patting his head, noticing the deer tied up outside. "We will skin it tonight, but first we have to do some cleaning, and Wil, I'm going to need you to help me build a new shack for supplies," he added, turning to his middle child. Wilbur nodded and got up from the table. "I will work on that now," he said, grabbing an axe by the front door. "Oh, and (Y/n), Dream left this morning, he really is a loner type for leaving without saying goodbye," he added before turning and closing the door behind him.

"I take my youngest son on a hunting trip and you bring strangers into my house?" jokes Phil, making (Y/n) snicker a little. "Aw Phil, come on, he told me his name so I wouldn't say he is a stranger," she said, giggling. Tommy just stands there doing his own thing, rummaging through the kitchen, finally stopping once he gets his hands on a bowl of berries.

"Oh, (Y/n), we are going to train some today as well, or at least I will teach you some maneuvers before you sneak away to try to see Techno again," he said. This made Tommy look up at his father quickly, making a strange face, then continue munching on his snack. "Alright, I am ready whenever," she replies. "Is now a good time for you?" he asked.

She nodded her head and went to get her shoes. She then ran outside to find Philza under some trees with so little snow that you could see the fresh grass poking out from the snow. "Alright, first I am going to teach you some basic stuff, like how to get out of particular holds and what to do if you get attacked," he said.

Philza held out both of his hands. "Hold out your arms like this. Right. Say someone grabbed your wrists. You don't want to pull around and hurt yourself, you could snap your little wrists. What you do here is pull both of your wrists out towards their thumbs, since they are the weak part. This move is pretty effective but it is only valid for certain types of holds and restraints," he said.

They practice the motion, she turns her hands out where Philza's thumbs are. He explains some more tips for evasive maneuvers and hypothetical situations like how to get out of rope bonds and to redirect someone's attack. They practiced until the sun came down. With little to do, Tommy ended watching them for a few hours, commenting and spectating their moves and observing some knowledge himself.

"Now, how to use a knife or dagger. I have a switchblade that I want to give you," he says, taking out a small knife with the blade safely tucked into the polished granite handle. (Y/n) takes it carefully and Philza teaches her stances as well as how to properly hold it and not cut herself with it.

"If you get a clear shot at getting the front or back, never stab down. Take the knife underhanded and jab upwards, just under their ribs. That should puncture their lungs, or at least their diaphragm, so they won't be able to breathe. And when you are done, wipe the blade off best you can, because you don't want to deal with a switchblade doused in dried blood." he rambled a bit, but (Y/n)'s bright eyes stayed focused on his movements and her ears only heard the knowledge of his words.

The sun had just set and everyone was in the kitchen. Wilbur was heating up some leftover steak in the furnace and Tommy was pouring glasses of lemonade, enough for everyone. They all sat down and ate.
