It was nightfall once again and the traveling pair finally made it to their destination. Schlatt unpacked their things from the horse while (Y/n) explored. They were in a spread out town, the next closest house was a little ways away, but it wasn't out of sight. The house itself was fairly big. A little bigger than Phil's house.

She walked around the house and found a small fenced-off flower garden. As she walked closer, she spotted two little horns pointing out of a brown-haired head. She walked up behind the younger boy, squatting down in front of the open gate of the flowers. In curiosity, she lingered there a few moments before speaking to try to figure out what the weird kid was doing. It seemed to her though that he was just watching the flowers up close.

"What are you doing?" asked (Y/n), walking closely behind him. The brown-haired boy jumps slightly, turning his head around quickly to look at the one who pulled him from his own peaceful thoughts. "Who are you?" he questioned. "Well I can tell you, but I asked you first," replies the girl. He simply looks dumbfounded, giving her a thoughtful look before answering her. "I was watching the bees," he said, receiving a weird look from his new friend. "Hmm alright then, my name is (Y/n), Schlatt is my uncle," she said, introducing herself. "My name is Tubbo. You must be the girl he went to the Northern Tundra to bring home, Schlatt is my dad, so that kind of makes us siblings, right? I mean, we are basically the same age and I have always wanted another sibling!" he cheerfully said, giving her a warm smile. His contagious expression reaches her.

"Hehe, yeah we can be siblings, but how old are you?" She asks him. A proud smile shows on his face, a single canine missing on his right side. "I'm a whole 8 years old!" he brags, only leading (Y/n) to snicker, even prouder to announce her age. "I'm 11 so that means I'm older hehehe," she begins giggling and rests her arm on his head. "So you gotta do what I tell you to," she adds. "What? No fair!" he squeals as she leans on his sitting figure, already knocking him over. She tumbles down with him and they both start laughing.

"Come with me, I wanna show you your room!" shouts the boy, helping her up. She nods and follows him into the big yet dark house. He walks her down a little hallway and at the end are two rooms on either side. "Mine is the one on the right, yours is right here." He says as he opens the left door, walking in with her. The room was painted a pinkish beige color with creme colored bedding and birch furniture.

(Y/n) gasps at the decorated room, looking around carefully before running and jumping on the plush bed, giggling. "Do you like it? Dad let me pick all the colors and stuff, it was really fun," he says, admiring his own internal design. "I love it! It's so pretty." she compliments.

Tubbo lets out a small laugh. "Oh do you want me to show you around the town?" he asks. (Y/n) nods in response and she gets up, the two of them walk outside. He takes her hand and walks her down a wooden path. He takes her to the community center first, the first building ever built in the town. He tells her about all the cool little hideouts he has found and explains why the buildings were mostly spread apart. Apparently, L'manburg is a major production town, lots of farms and mines are scattered around, as well as docks leading out to the ocean. It was a really beautiful place, breathtaking even.

Tubbo then took her to a special place that he used to sit with his mother at when she was still alive. It was a little bench facing the ocean on a cliff. "I remember my mama would bring me out here when dad was out of town and she would sing to me and tell me stories. I was just old enough to be able to remember her face, but... when she left, it became a really special place. I spread her ashes over the side of the cliff into the water and to be carried by the wind." he said, looking into the sunset with a sad smile as he talked.

They both return home and walk in to see Schlatt cooking dinner. Tubbo goes to help him with it as (Y/n) goes to unpack in her room. From her bag, she first takes out the framed picture of her and her temporary family. Then she pulls out the necklace that Techno got her for her birthday, a little engraving in the bear tooth that looked like three kids and a winged man. Their family. She puts it on, pulling her hair out from under the dark leather string.

Then, she takes out her clothes, putting them neatly into the drawers in her dresser and nightstand. The violin she props against the wall next to the bed, intending to play it if it weren't for Tubbo running in and telling her that dinner was ready. She walked out a little bit after he left and sat down at the three-chaired circular table.

Schlatt holds two plates, carrying them to the kids from the kitchen, and plops them down in front of them with little grace. "Sloppy Joe's, eat up kids." He said before returning to wipe up the kitchen and retreating into the living room to read the newspaper.

(Y/n) was a little shocked at first. She was so used to the meals being gently set down and smelling amazingly. She didn't hesitate though, appetite formed from walking around her new home for so long. She took a bite and almost stopped chewing. It was tasteless, like eating woodchucks. She looks up at Tubbo, who then looks at her. "I know it's pretty bad, he isn't a good cook, but I'm trying to learn from the baker in the town to cook, so you don't have to suffer for too long, food-wise." he laughs between bites. (Y/n) politely smiles and finishes the sandwich.

Meanwhile, the family in the North were getting used to the loss of their friend. Philza, Wilbur, and Techno all sit down for dinner, silently. "It's not the same," mumbles Techno as he picks at his food with his fork. Philza sighs after swallowing his bite. "I know son, but she won't be gone forever, she'll come and visit us," he reassures. Wilbur says nothing but keeps eating. It was obvious that they were all very upset still.

They finish their food and get ready for bed. They were getting up early the next morning to go hunting with their father to hopefully get their minds off (Y/n). Laying wide awake in the dark room, Techno feels like he is suffocating. His heart hurts and his eyes sting with tears. He sits up in bed and holds himself, crying silently in the room with his brother.

After a good crying session, the piglin boy gets out of bed and, instead, climbs into (Y/n)s bed. 'It still smells like her', he can't help but think. He wraps himself in her blankets and swiftly falls asleep.
