TW: Slight gore warning
A/n: Definitely wasn't listening to Revenge remix by Tryhard Ninja and Approaching Nirvana while writing this. Or any other Minecraft parodies for that matter. Especially not Blitz Survival Games by the one and only...
After the scream, (Y/n) sprang into action, clutching her axe and running to the source of the distress. She turned the corner and was in the town square, a water fountain in the middle of a modest plaza. Most people were running but some of L'manburg's young and middle-aged men defended their families from an army. They wore the same uniform as the enemy forces when she went on the field as a medic.
Her heart pounded in her ears, blood pumped so hard she was forced into action, she ran, remembering her lessons from Philza. A soldier charged into the plaza to attack one of the civilian boys and she immediately blocked the sword with her thicker powerful axe. The man had more strength on her, pushing his sword closer and closer to her, but she had skills taught by a war veteran and her other fatherly figure.
She kicked a leg up and stomped just below the man's ribs, causing him to stumble back, coughing from the smart maneuver. Before he could get back up, Puffy jumped into sight, ending his life with a single slash of her diamond sword. Huffing, she turned to (Y/n) and glared at her. "Go back to your house, you don't know what's going on here," she said, her voice stern but caring. (Y/n) only refused, helping the boy she defended to his feet, running away not a second later.
She stood her ground and soon enough, Puffy gave up, turning to attack with a bow. The two girls divided and conquered, splitting on either side of the fountain. (Y/n) was, fortunately, able to outsmart her opponents, and Puffy's archery was enough to keep her side at bay.
More townsfolk returned with pitchforks, canine companions, and other common weapons. The small rebellion was holding out, intense fighting on both sides, but soon, an order was called, and the men ducked for cover. (Y/n) looked around to see why. She turned around, but it was too late. By the time she had seen the TNT a few feet from her, ringing and a bright flash consumed her.
The girl's senses were faltering, she dropped her axe and felt herself on the ground. She stumbled to her knees but couldn't stand. She shut her eyes harshly and her hands race to her ears to try to silence the constant stinging sound. Furthermore, her flesh was burning, mostly on her leg, but the sensation continued up her side, loose shreds of her shirt and pants made her wince as it brushed over her wound.
She opened her eyes and blinked. It felt like she was underwater, but half of the water was scalding hot, and the other side was cold. In blinking her eyes frantically, she could see flashes of Puffy rushing to her, dropping her bow and being all that she sees.
Puffy watches in horror as the girl is tossed to the ground by the loud explosions. She managed to take cover behind a bench before the tossed TNT on her side could explode. It was completely unpredicted, who would use so much force just to take over a measly town such as L'manburg? Puffy turned her attention back to the girl, now on her knees, clutching the sides of her head and leaning forwards.
She ran over to her, grabbing her wrists, and pulling her up onto her back. Puffy carried the younger girl and retreated, running to Schlatt's house. A whizzing arrow startled Puffy, making her misstep and fall, hurting her ankle as she drops the immobile and deaf (Y/n). "Stay with me, come on kiddo," she mumbled, getting back up and hoisting (Y/n) over her shoulder.
Puffy began running again as (Y/n) senselessly grabbed at her hair and clothes, searching for stability. Puffy was careful not to get hit by any arrows and soon enough, Schlatt's house came into view. Tubbo was looking out of the window and ran to the door when he saw the pair. Puffy ran inside, Tubbo holding the door open for her as she runs to the living room, carefully putting the barely conscious girl on the couch with the help of Schlatt, very worried.
"What happened out there?" "Oh god, is she going to be okay?" "Puffy!" She tuned out the voices, adrenaline still driving her. She hurriedly spoke, almost too fast to understand. "I need a lot of gauze, alcohol, um, I need water, and some towels, now, hurry," she ordered. Quackity, who had been quietly watching in disbelief, was now rushing to the gauze, Tubbo got the alcohol from a first aid kit, and Schlatt grabbed many towels.
The bloodied burns on (Y/n)'s legs were intense, but slightly got better the farther up her side it went. "Okay, now leave, give her some privacy," she ordered, paying no attention to the boys as she rips the rest of the side of her pants and shirt, revealing her whole side. At this point, (Y/n) was unconscious from the pain. Schlatt waited by the door, back turned, anxiously tapping his foot.
Meanwhile, Tubbo and Quackity looked out the window, speaking quietly and scarcely. "Do you think we are winning?" Asked Tubbo, trying to be optimistic. Quackity shrugs, his arms crossed over his chest tensely. "Who knows, I saw some reaching this part of town, I think they are from the Seaglary kingdom. They are wearing their colors, look," he said, pointing to a stray soldier wearing blue and yellow, making sure everyone is in their homes, driving away anyone outside with his sword. Tubbo lets out a hum as he eyes the man.
An hour or so passes by and the two boys jump, hearing a choking sob and yell break the tense silence. They both get up and head to the living room where (Y/n) was. "Calm down, you gotta not move or you might hurt yourself," explained Puffy, lightly holding her in place. (Y/n)'s eyes were pain-filled, her trembling hands hovered over the burning feeling creeping up to her torso. "Can you see clearly? Do I sound quiet?" she kept asking as the girl just trembled. She nodded her head, then shook it as Puffy spoke, only sobs escaped her mouth as tears streamed from her eyes.
"Schlatt, hurry up with that potion!" she yelled to the other side of the house where the kitchen was. The disheveled man briskly walks in and gives her a glass of a light blue substance in a little cup. Puffy took it from him and lifted (Y/n)'s head. "Drink this," she cooed to the poor girl. After just a few seconds of downing it, (Y/n) was knocked out cold, finally looking the most peaceful since she had gotten back.
"That sleep potion should help her with not feeling it, but it will still hurt when she wakes up. I'm sure you want to know what happened?" she asked as the three sat down on chairs or on the floor. "Is she going to be okay?" mumbled Schlatt, tearing up in his chair. "She will be ok, if we can make some regeneration potions and instant healing potions she should be able to get up in a day or two," said Puffy, trying to reassure the worried father.
"Puffy, what happened out there?" asked Quackity, staring at (Y/n)'s wrapped up wounds in lament. Puffy sighed and sat with her back to the leg of the couch trying to calm herself down. "I ran after her, and she refused to leave. She fought really well, but just as we were getting the upper hand, they blocked for cover and threw dynamite at us. I don't think she noticed until it was too late.. Then I brought her back here," said Puffy, adding in some details whenever they asked.
They were all really worried, even Quackity, who had only known her for half a day at most. They continue talking about what is to come as the sun falls and yelling continues. Puffy and Schlatt took turns watching out the windows to make sure it was safe. Yelling raged on and explosions were heard throughout the night until morning.
