Chapter 38

Gin

Sunrise gazed upon the windows, as I sighed feeling the emptiness beside me.

I scanned the room, seeing nothing but a bouquet of roses and the smell of pancakes. Naks may pa fancy breakfast pa.

"Oh em geeeee!!! Gin you're awake na? Ahh..nagpahatid na ako ng clothes mo for today, wala kasi si Darius and Geisler, since silang dalawa yung bahala sa kumpanya." She explained, pouring orange juice on my glass. I sighed blushing at her gestures.

"Ahh...nakakahiya naman.." I whispered. She grinned at me and laughed.

"Don't be! plus I can take you to the mall if you like, we can buy some clothes for you and the baby." She suggested, sitting on the edge of the bed.

There was a pause before I decided to keep our conversation going.

"Hindi ko talaga naisip na magkaroon ng ganito...this pregnancy...it feels like it's not for me.." I confessed, catching her attention.

Niyapak lang niya ang kanyang mga paa at napaduko. Hindi ko man alam ang kanyang iniisip ngunit parang may gusto rin siyang sabihin sakin.

"C'mon Tin...hindi mo naman kailangan i-bottle up yung feelings mo..I'll gladly listen.." Mahinang tugon ko. Dahan dahan lang siyang napatango at ngumiti na kung parang nakaramdam siya ulit ng pag-asa.

"Well...I actually quite envy you...I mean all I want is to have a family..but sadly me and Geisler cannot conceive one..and even if we wanted to, my Grandfather would never allow us, ni hindi nga niya alam na kasal na ako eh.."

"But you...you've got nothing to hide...and I wish that I could feel that too..being independent..having a family..no pressure.." Paliwanag niya. Habang nanginginig sa lungkot.

Hindi ko naman alam na ganito pala yung nararamdaman ni Tina..and I never knew that she cannot conceive a child
with Geisler. Let alone seeing her desire to have a family of her own.

"Hey..enough about me. How about you? are you feeling any better?" She asked, setting down her plate. The cold breeze was enough to give me goosebumps. Courtesy of the aircon facing towards me.

"Ah...okay naman ako, wala nang masakit...aside from the headache. Everything is fine." I replied, giving her reassurance.

She stood up, and made her way towards the window, she tied her hair into a bun, showing her face. The warm aura calmed us down, as yesterday was very troublesome for all of us.

I hope the boys were doing alright. Knowing the two, they'd probably work their asses off not even bothering to rest.

"Once you're feeling better, I'll bring you back to the mall. Let's buy some clothes for you." She suggested, sitting back down.

I nodded at her suggestion, feeling my muscles relax. My hand unconsciously slide towards my stomach, smiling at the feeling.

I never thought that such thing would happen to me. I mean hindi naman imposible, pero nakakagulat parin isipin.

Darius

"Oh? Ba't tahimik ka? may problema ba?" Tanong ni Geisler saakin, ngunit napairap lang ako at nagpatuloy sa pagpirma ng mga paperwork.

"Hindi malulutas yang problema mo kung di ka magsalita. Even though I never admit this, I'm not just your secretary Zen..I'm also your friend. Alam mo na worried kami ni Tina sayo. We know what you're afraid--" I slammed the table, glaring at him.

"Can we not talk about this?!" I said, raising my voice. Knowing that I don't scare him, I sat back down, while Geisler just stood there, sighing.

"You have to tell her Zen, alam mong sa una palang, masasangkot na siya. Don't wait until she finds out herself."

"Me and Tina are trying our best to support you. You should know that."

"I know, I know...but it's hard to say it..I can't let her be part of this..but at the same time I don't want to lose her.." I whispered, my knuckles were turning white from gripping my table.

"Whether or not you will lose her, you still have to tell her everything. Hindi pwedeng masangkot siya sa kapahamakan na hindi naman siya dapat masali. Everyone is after you Zen. You can't run from the law."

"That's why I need you two to help me. Help me until I figure all of this out, and then I'll tell her everything. I promise." I pleaded. Feeling my heart pound from anxiety.

She's the one to let me find my place. I can't let her be near any danger.

"Sinabi mo yan Zen. But remember. Time is running out, Adrian escaped prison. And even if it's not your fault, You are still responsible for his downfall. It's your company and we are supporting your decision.

"How about this? I personally like this color for you." Tina happily said, measuring the clothing. I laughed at her silliness, and let her choose my clothes.

"Swerte ako at may kaibigan ako na fashionista, kasi kahit anong piliin mo, siguradong maganda.." I said, eyeing the clothes that she got.

"Ahh you know naman, trained na ako since birth, sayang naman kung di efficient yung fashion sense ko? Am I right?" She proudly stated, making me agree at her.

Of course naman, but I still wonder why she's doing this for me, I'm sure I'll be able to grab some lessons from her.

"C'mon Gin, let's go to the babies section. And then after let's grab some food.

The babies' sections was full of colors, mostly blue, white and pink, but there's a lot to choose from.

"What about this? it's unisex of course, Di pa naman natin alam yung gender ng baby.." She showed me the clothing. It was color white, with a bear print on the front.

"It's cute, but I kind of prefer the panda print.." I shyly suggested, which made her burst out laughing.

"Don't be shy! Hindi ko naman tatanggihan yung suggestion mo, hindi naman ako yung mama ng bata so I'd be delighted if you suggested some things that you prefer."

"Ahh ganon ba? Haha sorry naman, medyo overwhelming kasi itong pregnancy, I'm still getting used to people taking care of me..nasanay na kasi ako na ako yung nagaalaga.." I honestly said, but quickly turned around.

"What's wrong Gin?" She asked holding my forearm.

"Nothing. I just thought I saw someone." I slowly said, making her drag me away from the aisle.

"C'mon Gin, let's pay for this, I'm sure we can order some food at the condo."

I raised my eyebrow in confusion, did she saw someone too?

"Okay, that's a good idea Tina."
