Gin
Three weeks went by since the last incident that happened at the underground company.
Me and Geisler were now adjusting to our new lifestyle, with him working as a personal driver for big events, while I took care of his unfinished work at the Guilberra company.
It wasn't much, but both of us are still adjusting to our losses.
"Yo! Gin!!" Geisler shouted, closing the door, I groaned my eyes pierced at the man in front of me.
"Di mo naman kailangan sumigaw, rinig na rinig ka ng mga kapitbahay nating chismosa." I complained, helping him carry the groceries but he evaded setting the plastic bags full of ingredients and canned goods on the table.
"Kaya ko na ito lahat Gin..just sit down. I'll cook for us.." He trailed, fatigue was evident in his eyes.
I sighed at him. Kahit kailan ang tigas talaga ng ulo niya. "Ako na luluto okay? hindi naman mabigat yan. Just rest okay? Kahit isang minuto. Maupo ka muna." I replied, grabing the spatula that he was holding.
We smiled at each other, silently complimenting our strength to carry on.
"Naks..parang Husband and Wife, but really we're just living to survive." He joked, which made me chuckle.
"We both know that we're loyal to them, kahit na wala sila sa tabi natin..we're still in love with them." I whispered, turning my back at Geisler.
I don't want him to see me crying.
"We were gonna name her Denise.."
He sat up from the couch, his hands were fiddling, eager to listen to me.
"It's a girl? How come hindi niyo sinabi sa amin?" He asked.
"We were planning to throw a gender reveal party, well as you can see with all of this happening I don't think it will even happen." I laughed bitterly, stirring the soup that I cooked.
"Well...how about we throw one right now? I'll buy a cake from the store then we'll celebrate?." He smiled softly, making me widen my eyes.
He really changed since then.
"Thank you.." I mouthed, hugging him.
"of course.."
*****
My eyebrows furrowed, searching for the document that links to the case that I have been working on.
Geisler had to go outside the city, since he knows a good bakery and wanted to make it special for Denise.
He really has a soft spot for kids.
It was already night time, I'm already done cooking our food. It's not much, but it's enough for the both of us--or three of us.
I sighed. Nasa condo ni Darius ang document na kailangan ko. It held great details on how they handle the company itself. Of course I won't mention his name. But it is really important for me, considering that my boss wants to give me eighty thousand pesos if I gave him a full report.
I stood up, grabbing my phone and spare keys to his condo.
It won't be long since his condo is near the company.
I put on my jacket the cold air making me shiver. Making sure to lock the door, I got inside the taxi telling the driver of the address.
"Ang swerte naman ng mister mo, mukhang malusog yan paglaki." The old taxi driver laughed softly. His wrinkles were evident.
