I blink at the bright lights, and at his hand which is reached out to me, maybe that's his thing. I place my hand in his and smile slightly to myself at the softness and how warm it is, pulling myself to my feet.

I stand up, my head reeling from the noise and give a practised smile, looking around. A red carpet, ooh fancy. And like hundreds of thousands of people, but y'know. Red carpet's cooler.

I take a deep breath, feeling John's hand slip gently around my waist, and heat flood to my cheeks.

It felt so right to have his hand on my waist, for some, reason. I can't like this, it's not good, I can't be attracted to him. But everyone is. So it's normal right? But he is really hot. Damn it he's super hot I'm owning it now. It feels right, fuck it.

I try to smile at the same cameras he does, and look as nice as possible. It's just one walk, just 30 seconds ish, just about 30 seconds. I can do this.

I feel him pull slightly on my waist, secretly, as if to just me, a small code, as he starts walking and I walk with him. We go slightly slowly, stopping to smile and sometimes answer questions, and I simply smile and laugh at his jokes. God what image is this going to paint of me?

I've slightly leant into him I realise, slightly into in chest. I don't even know why.

We're almost there, we're almost to the door, oh finally, that was one of the most stressful things I've ever done. We're almost through the door.

Then he kisses my cheek.

HE KISSES MY CHEEK.

I freeze, tensing up slightly. It was a simple kiss, just his lips on my cheek, but it felt so nice, but I hated it. Don't get me wrong, I  hated it. But it felt nice.

Really nice.

But it sucked.

As soon as it was done I push slightly aggressively through the door and as soon as it was shut I completely explode, though whisper-shouting "What the fuck was that for?"

"Man up it was a kiss!"

"It was gross, you didn't have to do that."

"Yeah I fucking did. Calm down."

"Calm down?! I will-" I was about to say kill you but suddenly though better, and just groan exasperatedly.

"C'mon. Now act like you love me. Also you now look like you're cosplaying a tomato."

"Please lay off insulting me for one minute, please."

"Fine. Now be in love."

"I hate you," I mutter under my breath, rolling my eyes. That, was awful.

I don't really look where I'm going, muttering to myself about how stupid this is and looking at my feet until I am scared out of my skin by John squealing. Literally.

"Peggy!" He shouts, running towards a girl in a yellow dress, and they hug.

"I feel like I haven't seen you in ages."

"You saw me literally the other day."

"Eh, I have no perception of time."

"I brought Uno cards!"

"Peggy you're the best!"

She suddenly looks past him and at me, and I suddenly feel incredibly embarrassed. I give a small wave.
