"We're going out John, like the outside."

He looks up at me from where he was huddled in a blanket. "Wha- why?"

"Because, you haven't been out in nearly two weeks. You need vitamin D or else you die. Vitamin D deficiency isn't very sexy."

"But, its voting season?"

"So?"

"I don't want to go out."

"That's not a good enough excuse."

"Yes it is, Alex don't make meee." He groans, leaning to the side and falling off the bed. I wince.

"Are you ok?" I ask, genuinely concerned for a moment, before remembering this was John, who had got stabbed and tried to bargain with Peggy to not go to the hospital, while there was a knife still literally inside his fucking body.

"You can't make me go outside!" He proclaims.

"I can and I will. You're coming outside with me!"

"Why do you care, just go on your own!" He yells, half joking.

My throat runs dry for a second. Why did I care? I mean, it's not like I needed him or anything. But it wasn't healthy to not see the sun for this long. But why the fuck did I care? Oh my god, I'm not having a full crisis right now, I'll deal with this later.

"You are coming outside... or... or... I'll break your switch."

He bolts upright and I knew I'd caught his attention. I smirk to myself.

"You wouldn't dare." He whispers, glaring at me.

"Oh wouldn't I?" I hesitate for a single second before bolting out of the room.

I wouldn't, trust me, but it's fun to play along.

"Alex!" I hear yelled after me and I laugh.

He chases after me and I grin to myself. Ah yes, it's all coming together.

He finally catches up to me and grabs me and I squeal ever so slightly, giggling.

"You wouldn't." He whispers.

"No, you're right, I wouldn't." I breathe, "but, now that you're up, we can go for a walk."

He gasps slightly, "You tricked me!

"Of course, now go get ready or whatever, we leave in five."

He lets go of me and walks off in the direction of the bathroom, grumbling to himself. I smirk.

time skip brought to u by my massive overthinking

"The outside is overrated," John mumbles, his hand in mine, for y'know, publicity purposes and all that.

"No it's not, man up."

"Can I please go back inside now?"

"Absolutely not."

"It's not fair!" He whines, like a child, but quietly.

"Life's not fair, suck it up."

"Dang you're mean. Fine, a five minute walk, and then we go back. Happy?" He adjusts his hand in mine, and I feel my heart flutter, like a stupid butterfly.
