Matt took a cloth out from his back pocket, polishing his rpg. He looked around for any dark spots that needed cleaning, and after cleaning he set it on his back securely.
Y/N walked up to him, he was sitting on the mountainside a ways away from the party.
"Hey Y/N?" Matt asked, his brows creasing."Whats up?" She asked in a low tone. Her tone matched his, Matt never asks genuin questions, so she wanted to keep this private in case it was something personal.
"..Droids been acting weird." He sighed. He recalled the event that happened right before the sniper battle commenced, and the people with Ars such as grizzy for example were down low on the mountain.
"When we were under fire, he did not try and help us, he mentioned his team was dead, didnt he?" Matt coldly explained.
Y/N knew Droid. This was unlike him. Y/N didnt have much memory of the time in gradeschool, as they were seperated in middle school due to her moving constantly due to foster parents.
The woman tried to recall the events of middle school. Unable to, she was frustrated. She still nodded at matts question.
She silently listened to his words.
"The entire time he was looking at you."
The words stung her harshly, Y/N didnt expect to be someone he was drawn to. Even during war, Droid was looking at her?
"..." her eyes widened, her hands trembled as a certain memory rewired itself into her head, something she wanted gone but it came back anyway.
"Y/N?" Droid called out to her, watching her trembling state against the tiled school wall. He laughed, watching her break down in tears.
"Your ex was right to leave you. Youre so sensitive!" He taunted.
Her breathes unevenly hitched, everytime Y/N tried to breath she would end up gasping for air instead.
"Relax, its just a fucking joke lmao. Chill." Droid rolled his eyes.
"Your friends wont help, oh no! Thats because you have no friends, silly." He wiped a tear from her eyes. Droid also wiped a stray tear from his for laughing so hard at her.
"...im not your friend either Y/N, but you cant get rid of me!"
"Y/N, hey, sh, its okay." Matt held her in a tight embrace, seeing her petrified face, he knew he said something triggering on accident.
He saw smii7y in the distance and waved at him, attempting to get only his attention. Thankfully, Smii7y noticed the frantic hand, and the slightly shaking Woman right next to it.
He walked over to it, making sure to go unnoticed by his peers. Jarens blood ran cold upon laying eyes on Y/N who looked sickly.
"Y/N?" He called out softly to her, wondering why she was in this state, and why.
Did someone do this to her?
He pondered, fixated on Y/Ns sickly face. Smii7ys warm, gloved hands cupped her face that felt cold the more he focused on it.
Eyes faltering, her gaze that once dropped onto the floor snapped back into reality, looking directly at him.
"..s-smits." Tears welled in her eyes.
Matt ran back with the group, distracting them, so Smii7y could help Y/N. Matt noticed Droid attempting to pull away from the group, but didnt let him. Matt kept dragging Droid back into conversation.
"Y/N, dont cry.." Jarens voice trembled, holding her firmly. One gloved hand fell on her shoulder while the other still remained on her cheek.
Left without words, she melted into his arms, sobbing quietly. Y/N couldnt think straight, she just wanted to be held. Held by someone who truly cared, and shes found the right pair of arms.
"It hurts me when you cry."
