"Ok Jack. You've mastered this move. Now focus on a spot, and kick through it," Rudy instructed as I watched Jack kick the vending machine perfectly, releasing a free bag of Nacho Nuggets. Me and the rest of the gang were stretching, preparing for practice. "Ha ha! You did it! I got my Nacho Nuggets!"
"Next time, have Cami do it. She knows how to do it too, ya know," Jack told Rudy making me roll my eyes.
"Guys! You're not gonna believe it! My dad and a whole bunch of my family are coming to watch me in the tournament this Saturday," Jerry announced upon emerging from the locker rooms.
"Oh yeah! It'll be the first time they see and me and Jerry fight," I added. "Well, unless you count that time Jerry fought a goose because it ate his flip flop. It was a lot of honking and screaming."
"You do not steal a man's flip flop yo! Anyway, I'm gonna train extra hard. I wanna make them proud," Jerry nodded.
"Good for you man," Jack patted Jerry's bicep before Rudy called our practice to commence.

Me and Jack were talking at his locker, as friends do, when Jerry came walking up to up. "Sup," he greeted.
"Aren't you supposed to be in detention?" Jack asked.
"Let me guess. Flight risk?" I guessed.
"Nah. I blew it off. I'm sparring with Eddie," Jerry shrugged. "Do you know where he is?"
"He said if he's gonna spar with you, he needed to go to the library first," Jack answered.
"Why would he do that?" Jerry asked, laughing slightly as a book covered Eddie walked into the hall.
"Ok, let's do this quick. That book alarm went crazy when I walked out," Eddie said.
"That makes no sense. It's not like you're wearing books or anything," I sarcastically spoke.
"Wow. Jerry, a human sparring dummy," Jack swung his arm around my cousin.
"This'll be the first time we see you hitting the books," I snickered. Jerry started punching, making Jack drop his arm. He swung his arm around me this time as we watched Jerry weakly attack Eddie. He started laughing making Jerry stop.
"You hit like my grandmother," Eddie laughed. Me and Jack looked at Jerry expectantly, probably knowing this would trigger him.
"That's it!" Jerry exclaimed as he started attacking Eddie hard, making Eddie squeal and crouch.
"Whoa whoa! Take it easy! Man you hit him right in the Grapes of Wrath!" Jack intervened.
"Speaking of which, I need that book. Are you wearing it or should I look in the library?" I asked.
"Umm, check the southern region," Eddie suggested.
"You know what? I think I'll look for a different copy in the library. See ya later boys!" I waved, rushing to the library.

I was watching Jerry and Jack spar as I ate an apple. What? I missed lunch looking for the Grapes of Wrath. Anyway, Jerry looked like he was a fair fighter against Jack, which is really impressive considering he isn't even a brown belt, much less a second degree black belt. "Whoa! Jerry, you are pumped for this tournament," Jack breathed after being attacked off the mat.
"You fight this good at the tournament, there's no way anyone'll beat you," I added.
"I wanna make my dad proud. I'm even on this special training diet," Jerry told us, walking towards his bag. He grabbed an egg and a glass as I walked up to Jack. "Hold this," Jerry told Jack, handing him the glass.
