"Ooh! Our commercial's on!" Rudy exclaimed as me and the gang huddled in front of a TV to watch our commercial.
"Hello. I'm Rudy Gillespie. The sensei of the Bobby Wasabi dojo," TV Rudy introduced himself before the screen switched to a nerdy Jack. It looks really weird.
"Oh no. Some bully just stole my calculator," TV Jack complained making me raise my eyebrows. Yes, I've seen some of the clips, no, I haven't seen the full thing yet. "I wish I knew karatay."
"I'll teach you!" TV Rudy offered before fake whispering in TV Jack's ear.
"Thank you, handsome sensei," TV Jack nodded before taking off his fake glasses and ripping off his shirt. "Hey you! Give me my calculator back!" TV Jack performed a short routine as TV Jerry appeared on screen.
"Oh no! You must have learned karatay at the Bobby Wasabi dojo. Conveniently located at 3316 Ma- Main Street," TV Jerry choppily recited. TV Jerry gave TV Jack the calculator and screamed before jogging away. TV Milton walked up to a beaming TV Jack.
"Hey. I was watching you from over...there," TV Milton pointed off screen. "What do you call those moves you do so well?"
"They are called karatay, friend," TV Jack answered. "Because life without it just doesn't add up."
"Wow. You wear karate well!" I saw myself exclaim making me look away and cringe into my hand. "Can I please be your girlfriend, now?" TV Jack winked as I thought about how lucky Kim was to be in Miami to visit her grandparents at the time we filmed this awful commercial and the time we're watching it right now.
"Sign up today. Call +1 555-01-YA!" TV Rudy finished the commercial making me cringe as the others cheered.
"See? Now everyone in Seaford will know I'm the king of karate," Rudy smiled.
"Well, there's somethin' you should worry about," I pointed at the TV as another dojo's commercial popped up.
"I'm Chuck Banner, the Karate King! And if you love America, you'll sign up at my new Seaford Karate King dojo today! High ya! Call within the next 30 minutes and you'll receive this free Karate King clock," the TV Karate King offered. "Men and ladies love waking up next to me. What time is it? Half past awesome!" An explosion made the Karate King vanish. Stupid cool video effects.
"Uh Jerry. What're you doing?" I asked as Jerry brought his phone up to his ear.
"I'm getting that clock," Jerry answered.
"I want one too," Milton said.
"Please guys, Chuck Banner is a joke," Jack scoffed.
"Jack is right. Nobody is calling Karate King from my dojo," Rudy agreed, snatching Jerry's phone. "Now, you guys go stretch out. Get to work."
"Aww Rudy," Jerry groaned.
"Fine," I sighed. I bet he's getting that clock.
