||DUELING DOJOS||

"Alright, to hang your picture properly we gotta find the support beam," Jack explained to Jerry as I watched from the trophy wall. Yes, I've been told not to sit on that ledge, and no, I did not listen. "This stud finder will show me where it is," Jack gestured to the yellow/orange stud finder in his hand. He put it up to the wall, letting the stud finder find the stud.

"Ah. Those things don't work," Jerry scoffed. "You gotta do it the old fashioned way." Jerry took out a hammer from I don't know where and started banging holes into the wall with it. "Found it!" he announced after the hammer hit a wood beam.

"Give me that!" Jack took away Jerry's hammer. Jack, carefully, secured the nail into the wall so Jerry could put up the photo of me, him, Jack, Kim, Milton, and Rudy that was taken after Jerry won his first tournament ribbon. "I'm proud of you, man! Your first tournament ribbon," Jack beamed.

"I know, man," Jerry nodded proudly. "Couldn't have done it without you. Your support, your friendship."

"I'm still here ya know," I said as I hopped off the ledge of the trophies.

"Oh and your jockstrap," Jerry ignored me, looking away from Jack. I walked up to Jack and Jerry, tilting my head in disgust.

"You used his jockstrap?" I asked, disturbed.

"You can keep it," Jack assured.

"Hey. Have you guys heard that dumb Black Dragon radio jingle?" Kim asked as she exited the locker room.

"That thing's catchy yo," Jerry nodded.

"We're the best, don't mind the braggin' so come a be a Black Dragon," we all sang. We all stopped, but Jack decided to be extra and uh...how do I put this nicely? He ruined it.

"This is why you're a karate kid and not a...ya know. A singer," I awkwardly cleared my throat.

"Don't hate me for making it my own," Jack winked at me, walking into the locker rooms. I rolled my eyes, turning my attention to Milton who just entered the dojo.

"Hey, Jerry. That thing you're watching for the Seaford Animal Park is making a weird sound," Milton told my cousin.

"He's probably hungry. I should go feed him," Jerry replied, walking out of the dojo to feed whatever he's watching this time. Me, Milton, and Kim decided to follow.

"Aww. What a little cutie," I cooed, looking into the cage. "What is it?"

"Oh it's a Peruvian Bush Ferret. We gotta keep him separated because he's wired and the fellas can get really wound up around the females," Jerry explained, pulling up his jumpsuit.

"Ugh. I hear that," Milton said making us all look at him weird. "I mean, the poor thing."

"Uh you know, grandmaster, it's really great that you're helping the monastery to find a home for this little guy," I heard Rudy say as he exited Falafel Phil's with Grandmaster Po and a kid.

"Thank you. You know-"

"-when the truth is I'm helping you help the monastery help the boy which means you couldn't help anyone if I wasn't helping you," Rudy cut off the grandmaster.

"You're watching him for 2 days," Grandmaster Po reminded Rudy. "Get over it! Be good Sam."

"Don't worry about me, grandmaster. I'm sure I'll enjoy my time at the dojo with my new friends," the kid, I'm assuming is Sam, assured.

"And you can count on me grandmaster!" Rudy smiled. "Won't let him out of my sight." Rudy covered Sam's ears. "Alright, somebody watch this kid. I'm hitting the lunch buffet at the bowling alley." Rudy gave Sam a fist bump before leaving Sam in front of Kim while I sat on the table next to the cage of the ferret.
