||TIGHTROPING THE SHARK||

I was watching as Jack and Milton were prepping for the giant teeter totter. "Alright, I'm gonna jump on this side of the teeter totter and we'll keep going up and down as long as we can," Milton reviewed as he climbed the ladder to get onto the higher end of the teeter totter.

"Ooh! Seesaw! I wanna turn!" Rudy exclaimed as he exited the dojo.

"Rudy, it's not a seesaw, it's an extreme teeter totter," Jack corrected.

"In other words, it's a giant seesaw that can hurt people," I teased, walking up to Jack's side.

"Whatever it's called! I wanna turn!" Rudy exclaimed again.

"Rudy, this isn't a toy. It's the same piece of equipment famous daredevil, Spanky Danger, uses," Milton told Rudy.

"Yeah. We have tickets to see him at the Civics Center this weekend," Jack nodded.

"Couples get a 'buy a ticket, get one free' deal," I smiled, wrapping Jack's arm around my shoulder.

"You know, my favorite stunt man was Johnny Hazard. His famous stunt was being catapulted across Mount Rushmore," Rudy recalled.

"Did he make it?" Milton asked.

"Nope. He went into Washington's ear and out Lincoln's nose," Rudy denied. "After that, he was known as the human snot rocket."

"Ohh. Yeah, love that guy," I realized.

"Alright Jack, let's get our teeter totter on," Milton suggested, walking back towards the ladder.

"Let's do it," Jack agreed, retreating his arm from my shoulders to get on the platform beside me. Me and Rudy backed up, so we wouldn't get hit, watching with anticipation. Milton jumped onto his platform, but the teeter totter remained steady and still. Milton jumped on his platform, trying to the teeter totter move again, but it just wouldn't budge. Milton started continuously jumping on the platform as Jack relaxed his muscles and just watched Milton fail. Eventually Jack had enough and walked off the teeter totter. Jack started walking inside, much to me and Rudy's amusement.

"Where are you going?" Milton asked, still high on the teeter totter despite the other platform being empty.

"To get you a sandwich," Jack answered. Milton scoffed, climbing down the ladder as Taylor and Jerry walked out of the dojo.

"For the last time, no!" Taylor declined exasperated. All week, Jerry's been trying to get her to go on a date with him, but he's been very smothering about it. "Cami, will you please tell your cousin I'm not gonna go out with him?"

"I've tried, believe me, but he's stubborn," I sighed. "Jerry, Taylor doesn't need you smothering her all the time. Give it up! She's not going out with you!"

"Jerry, you are just a player," Taylor tried. "And fact, you've been rejected by every single girl in Seaford."

"I have not," Jerry argued as a girl passed by. "Oh yo Carly, you wanna go out?" Carly laughed before walking away. "Wha- ok, now I have."

"Look, I have to go. I'm gonna be late for my volunteer job at the aquarium," Taylor said, walking away, leaving us with a sad Jerry.

"Dude, I don't get it. I get rejected by girls all the time and it doesn't bother me," Jerry spoke. "Yo, why does this one hurt so much?"

"Because you actually like her," Rudy replied. "You guys might not believe this, but old Rudy's felt the occasional sting of rejection."

"Oh no, I believe it," Jerry nodded.
