||JACK STANDS ALONE(ISH)||

"I'm proud of my one term as Student Council President. Why was I not reelected? Nobody knows," Milton spoke into the mic. Kim had been elected as the new president and, after me and Kim discussed, we agreed to make Jack the face of the operation. We were in the multipurpose room, honoring our new president.

"You made the school day longer," Jerry piped up.

"You banned desserts," Frank added.

"You got rid of the faculty pinball machine," Funderburk continued.

"You gave us even more homework," I spoke.

"Nobody knows," Milton repeated. "Please welcome our new Student Council President, Kim Beulah Crawford. That's right people! You voted in a Beulah!" I gave Kim a celebratory hug before ushering her into the middle of the room.

"Fellow students, there is nothing that I won't do for you," Kim started.

"Place your hand on the turtle," Funderburk ordered.

"What? I am not touching that wartbag!" Kim hissed.

"It's tradition, Kim. To be sworn in, you have to put your hand on Arlo," Funderburk pressed.

"This is why I didn't run for president. That and I don't have the time," I told Jerry who continued bombarding me with encouragements to join the election when it was first opening up.

"My heart is clean, my mind is fertile, I'm the pres...swear on the turtle," Kim begrudgingly recited when she finally gave in and put her hand on Arlo.

"Aww," Funderburk cooed before giving Kim sanitizer and walking away.

"And now I'd like to bring up a good friend. He's loyal, he's true, and he's dependable. He's my vice president, Jack Brewer!" Kim announced as Jerry did this whole 'getting ready' thing to go up for the mic. I gave Jack a hug and a very risky and discreet kiss on the cheek.

"So uh I was told as vice president all I have to do is stand up here and look good, so here you go," Jack winked and clicked his tongue at me and did the same to a wall. Now that's what you call a good secret boyfriend. However, he doesn't know this yet, but as a one year anniversary present, I've been thinking about revealing our relationship to the world. I just need to get Jerry's approval to start dating. And it's not because I need the validation, it's because I don't want Jack to be pummeled like Hayden. Yeah, he asked for a pencil and then ended up with a broken wrist. Jerry is extremely aggressive when it comes to boys. "Thank you," Jack thanked, bringing me back to reality.

"And now, Erica Straffman has put together a special victory performance!" Kim announced, gesturing for the cheer squad to take the middle of the room. They came in cheering, as cheerleaders would, before Erica spoke.

"Thank you, Kim! I think y'all know who I am," Erica spoke in her almost intolerant peppy voice. I have everything against the girl, but her voice gets on my nerves the most and I don't know why.

"I'all don't," Milton said.

"Then I'll tell you," Erica replied. "I'm a nationally ranked cheerleader and gymnast and I'm head of our dance committee!" Oh, now I remember why. Because it's so artificial and fake. But so is the rest of her. "This is for you, Kim! Isn't she sweet? Get in line Gina!" Apparently, Jerry's been getting a lot more girls lately. I guess puberty hit him like a truck. It did for Jack. They performed an impressive routine, that Frank just had to ruin.

"Gina, look out! Frank's got the turtle!" Kim warned as Frank held Arlo against Gina's ankle. Arlo bit her ankle, making the pyramid they were in collapse, making Kim face plant into her cake.
