"Hey! It's almost time! Change the channel," Eddie said. We were all in Falafel Phil's, watching the TV to see if we got into the California Battle of the Dojos. Right now, Jerry was actually watch Worm with a Perm. Milton changed the channel, dampening Jerry's mood.

"Yo! What're you doing, man? I was just watching my favorite cartoon, Worm with a Perm!" Jerry exclaimed as me and Jack turned around. Since everyone's focus was mainly on the TV, they didn't notice me lean into his chest. "You know what it's about?"

"A worm with a perm?" I guessed.

"Oh you watch it too," Jerry assumed.

"Here we go. They're about to announce who's gonna be in the annual California Battle of the Dojos," Eddie nodded, looking at the screen with me, Jack, Milton, and Jerry.

"Should we go get Rudy?" Milton asked.

"No, no. Every year he comes in a disguise because he can't handle the embarrassment when our dojo doesn't get in," Jerry replied.

"We might get in this year. I mean, we've got Jack. And, I don't mean this in a cocky way, but we've got me too," I shrugged.

"Yeah. Not cocky," Jack teased.

"Shut up," I slapped his chest lightly.

"Are you two done?" Jerry asked, annoyed. "Rudy's probably that lady, over there." He pointed at an innocent old lady, Barbara, someone me and Jack played cards with one time we were at the nursing home.

"Jerry, I don't think that's-"

"-No no! Let him go," I smirked, cutting off Jack. I watch Jerry start talking with Barb.

"Look, I know you're ashamed, but we both know how this is going to end. So what d'you say we hit the mats and get our sweat on, eh?" Jerry suggested making Barb hit him with her tray. Jerry yelped as he tried running away from the attack towards the bathroom. Rudy walked up to the table, taking Jerry's pulled up seat.

"No disguises here, Rudy?" Milton asked.

"Nope. I am a grown man and I am going to accept the fact that my dojo is what it is," Rudy, maturely, answered.

"That's great! You don't need a tournament to feel good about yourself," Milton nodded. "You got plenty to be proud of."

"Well, like what?" Rudy asked, smiling. The whole table went silent, trying to think of something Rudy was proud of or an excuse to avoid the subject.

"I won the Junior Championship Tournament in China," I tried. It was my biggest flex, after all.

"We get it Cami! You don't have to keep bringing it up!" Rudy sighed, exasperated. I pursed my lips, giving Rudy the death glare.

"It's ok," Jack patted my back reassuringly. The doors opened, revealing Ty and some Black Dragons. "Aw great. Sensei Ty and some of the Black Dragons showed up."

"They get into this tournament every year," Milton told me and Jack.

"What're you doing here Ty?" Rudy asked, getting up from his seat. "Did you just come here to gloat?"

"Little bit," Ty replied, revealing his many belts and medals that he put onto him.

"Oh. They're making the announcement! Turn it up," Eddie ordered. We all turned around expectantly, me leaning back into Jack's chest again.

"Our first competitor of the Battle of the Dojos is the Black Dragons," the TV guy announced.

"10 years in a row, people. That's an even dozen!" Ty beamed.
