"Um what're you guys doing?" I asked as I entered the dojo to see Jerry with Lonnie's lizard and Eddie and Milton watching. I would've come in with Kim, but she's at an away baseball tournament with Carlos for the week. I find it sweet that they're spending so much time together, but I also find it a little annoying because I can barely spend time with Kim anymore.

"Petting my gassy lizard," Jerry answered nonchalantly.

"Sounds about right," I nodded.

"Alright Cami, it's Wednesday. Time to get our spar on," Milton reminded me as he hopped off the net he and Eddie were sharing.

"Um Milton, I- we need to talk," I slowly spoke. "I don't think we should spar with each other anymore."

"Is it something I did?" Milton choked.

"No no no! You're great! It's not you, it's me," I sighed.

"It's someone else isn't it?" Milton asked on the verge of breaking. "Please don't tell me you sparred with him. Here. On our mats!" I looked away apologetically, giving him his answer. "I've been such a fool!" Milton threw his red helmet to the side as I watched him storm into the locker rooms.

"Just down at the arcade! What was I doin' there? Only becoming the number one Immortal Slayer player in the world!" Jack exclaimed as he walked into the dojo.

"Wow. Spending thousands of hours with nerds in the dark, really payed off," I sarcastically nodded.

"Sure did," Jack agreed happily. "I won a really cool glow in the dark t-shirt." Jack put his head underneath his jacket, looking at his shirt. "Aw man! This thing is awesome!"

"Look, Jack, I'm tired of sparring with Milton. I mean you're the only other black belt in this dojo. I wanna be challenged," I said.

"Really? I don't think that's a great idea. I mean-"

"-come on, Jack!" I pressed, cutting him off as I pulled him towards the mat. He sighed, taking off his shoes.

"Whoa. You guys are sparring?" Jerry asked. I nodded excitedly. "Does Milton know about this?" I looked away, awkwardly.

"Yes. Yes he does," Milton confirmed, coming out in a robe with some ice cream. I scratched the back of my neck, avoiding eye contact with everybody.

"Finally some sparring between real karate students! Instead of a bunch of confused gazelles blindly flailing around in their pajamas," Rudy cheered as he took out his phone to record us. "No offense," he quickly added, looking over at Eddie, Jerry, and Milton.

"Oh it's cool," Jerry assured.

"None taken," Eddie shrugged.

"I love gazelles," Milton nodded.

"Remember Jack, give me everything you've got," I reminded him.

"Cami, are you sure you wanna do this?" Jack asked. I responded with a punch, to which he dodged and caught. "Ok," he spoke with wide eyes. We sparred, this time it was a lot more challenging and fun, with me ending up on top after flipping Jack over.

"Ooh! She just flipped you like a pancake!" Rudy laughed. "I gotta go upload this. It's gonna get more hits than fat baby farts!"

"Yes!" I cheered. "I took you down! Down to the ground!" I sang, dancing around. I stopped when I realized how cocky and mean that was.
