uncomfortable interview

"hello, everyone! today we are joined with this month's model; ateez raehyun!" the female interviewer introduced the idol who sat across from her, smiling as she introduced herself politely to the audience of the magazine's radio station. "ne~ today because we have raehyun-ssi with us, we will be answering questions sent in by her fans via twitter and live comments! so everyone please send in your questions!"

the two sat in a silent awkward silence before the hostess picked up a question sent in by the live comments that read: raehyunie, how are your parents? dis they support your dream of being an idol? to which the singer nodded when it was being read before answering honestly. "in the beginning, i didn't see myself as a singer and i had no knowledge of singing or dancing really but because of joochanie, i became one and we worked hard to debut. my parents were both very supportive of me," raehyun smiles.

"okay~ next question is: ateez has really difficult choreography, do you ever find difficulty in keeping up with the other members?" the interviewer asked, her tone bored and almost disinterested in the topic at hand.

"uh, sure it is difficult but i like it. it challenges me and my stamina and how much i can handle when we work on performances, especially now for kingdom: legendary war," raehyun responded to her fan's question, beginning to feel a weird gut feeling as she pulled the provided blanket closer to her body.

"hm, another fan asked if you stay in the dorms with the other members?" the interviewer asked. "eh? you stay in a dorm with eight boys?"

"uh, yes i do. it's not bad, they can be messy at times but it's fun," raehyun interjects before the older female began ranting about a girl needing personal space for her own privacy, going as far as talking about sexual topics about her relationship which made raehyun uncomfortable.

"i mean, what happens if you bring your boyfriend over? do you not have your own room? how do you do it?" she asked frantically as raehyun laughed awkwardly.

"eh, i share a room with the older members and they all respect my privacy so every time i use the bathroom, they knock before entering," the idol informed, debunking all the scenarios being made inside the interviewer's head.

"ah of course, but what about your boyfriend? i read that you had one. is he handsome? strong? do we know this man?" the worker pushed each question onto raehyun who was beginning to slightly shake from how aggressive the woman's tone was gradually becoming. "are your fans okay with you dating? your members? huh! even your parents?"

"i-" raehyun didn't know what to say because the woman was practically trying to pry into her personal life by asking questions about her relationship that she explicitly asked the staff members to not include. her breathing began to get uneven and she was shaking terribly, glancing backwards to her manager to signal him to help her out of the situation when another staff member entered the room.

"i'm sorry, that was not planned," the staff apologised to the singer, leading her away from the female staff that was interviewing her. "i was monitoring the comments and saw fans asking us to remove you from the interview. we apologise for her privacy-invading questions," they bowed deeply to the tearing up idol who sniffled and told them they were fine.

"is it possible we can reschedule this interview? i think she needs a break after this fiasco," her manager asked the staff running the interview who nodded and informed the two that they would prepare another interview for a later day with a more professional interviewer. "be, thank you for your help," he and raehyun bowed as they left, entering the car as raehyun began crying lightly.

"that was scary," she commented, wiping away her tears as she wrapped herself in the blanket she left behind inside the car. "i'm going to call hwa mama," and with that, a call to seonghwa was made.

"hello?" seonghwa answered, his voice echoing inside the practice room he was in.

"oppa, do we have ice cream at home?" raehyun asked the male who hummed and answered 'yes' before proceeding to question why her voice sounded like she had been crying. "uh, i- the staff that was interviewing me was questioning about my relationship and began pushing it and- i just started mentally panicking cause i didn't know what to do then a staff pulled me out and apologised," she summarised for him.

"ah, okay. i'll be home in a bit, i'll make you some food," seonghwa commented before hanging up.
