On the morning of May 10th, 2020, KQ Entertainment announced their artist, Raehyun of ATEEZ to be in a short term relationship.
Here is their official statement: "Hello, this is KQ Entertainment, we understand that many would like to be informed of our artists' relationships and how long they've been together. However, we do not understand the way fans find out about the relationship. Our artist Raehyun, who is still on hiatus due to health reasons has informed us of experiencing an invasion of privacy regarding her phone. Someone has hacked into her phone and revealed personal information as well as asking her parents into sending them money. We are disgusted by this issue and immediate action will be done against the culprit of whoever is doing this to Raehyun. Regarding the rumours of Raehyun dating, we are proud to say, after holding a meeting with our artist, that she is in fact seeing someone however wishes to keep his identity private until the right timing. We hope everyone understands her wishes."
The issue became a wide topic that even friends of the idol have come out to speak on it. Idols such as Stray Kids Eunchae, TXT Yeonjun, ASTRO Moonbin, Golden Child's Joochan and NCT Mayse.
"I would have never expected this to happen to someone like Rae. She is an angel and I am so sorry that she has to experience that. I have experienced a similar situation and no one deserves this to happen to them. Hacking into someone's phone to message their family for money or invade one's loved one about their identity to cause a scandal in their name is disgusting. Please have some self morals before doing such a thing that can bring many to dislike you. This isn't right." -- Eunchae
"Did I hear about the hacking to Angel's phone? Yes, I did. I got a message from her asking to borrow a lot of money and I was confused as to why, because she never asked anyone for money, even her parents. So I texted Wooyoung and he said her phone number had been hacked into. I feel really sad about this. She's an amazing girl and really doesn't deserve to experience such a bad thing like this happen to her. I hope she's doing well after this. I'm going to call her when she gets a new number and see if she's okay." -- Yeonjun
"This happened before my comeback with my group. I got a message from Raehyun asking for money and I was highly confused. She never asks for money but rather offered to buy stuff for friends. I asked Eunchae and she said it was a hacker. I'm very annoyed at this. Hyunie is a sweet person and I cannot believe such a thing happened to her." -- Moonbin
"I'm so upset. Raehyun has been a close friend of mine for years, to hear this happen to her anger me. Whoever hacked her not only asked me and her parents for money but also asked my parents. And to invade her love life is just plain out disgusting. Hyunie is a very private person and she chooses not to reveal her boyfriend for a reason. Respect it and leave her alone. Do not go to extreme measures that will only end you up in jail." -- Joochan
"I've experienced this before and so have my members. Many have hacked into my phone and have tried getting access to my bank account and ask my family to transfer a large amount of money into my account to cash out. Some have even gotten my or my members numbers and spammed us with calls. Raehyun unnie did not need to experience this. She is one of the sweetest girls I have ever met and is very private with her personal life. If she is private about it, please respect her privacy till she is comfortable in telling you about it. This is illegal and disgusting. I feel so sad that she had to experience it." -- Mayse
