With the success of their latest comeback "GUERRILLA", ATEEZ Raehyun releases a self-written song for her late mother.
Earlier this year, KQ Entertainment mournfully announced the passing of Raehyun's mother and her temporary hiatus from ATEEZ's oversea schedules.
The family held a small private ceremony consisting of family and friends for her mother.
On August 20th, Raehyun spontaneously released a self-written song entitled "Camellia" in honour of her late mother, sharing a hand-written note on her personal Instagram account, @kraenasaur.
Her letter reads: "Hello, this is Kim Rae Hyun. This is a song I have been working on for an extended time. It was initially meant for my mother's birthday but now I am using it as a dedication to her. I had a lot of difficulties finding the perfect words for this song to represent what I was feeling at the time. A lot of emotions were running through me when I tried finishing it the first time, but I managed with the help of my members and friends. Camellias were her favourite flowers. She would always give me bouquets of camellias after my concerts in Seoul. I would always return the favour of giving her bouquets of camellias as well. Camellia flowers are a symbol of love, adoration and longing in the flower community. Through this song, I hope ATINY can learn to appreciate and cherish their mothers more than they do now.
To my dearest mother, I will forever love you. You will always be in my heart and mind. May you rest in peace. Love, your daughter."
