A Study Group

It was the weekend when Raehyun rushed into the living room where her members were lounging on their couch, eyeing the frantic girl with confusion as she scrambled to grab her reusable water bottle from the kitchen counter and sloppily slipping on her shoes.

"Uh, Gem?" Seonghwa called out to the girl who paused in her action, turning to face her members who stared back at her. "Where are you off to?" the eldest member asked, concern lacing his voice upon taking notice of her untamed hair and mask covered face.

Raehyun pants softly from getting ready in a rush. "I...uh...have a study group," she pointed to the door as she gathered her breath. "I forgot about it and took a nap so now I'm late for it," she finished with a soft smile behind her mask. "I'll be back later! Bye! Love you!" she exclaimed, opening the door and springing out of it in a flash, not bothering to hear the boys bid her goodbye.

Raehyun had mentally thanked her peers for choosing a meeting place close to her dorm, only being a couple blocks away from where she and her members lived. Entering the small cafe, she pants as she searches for her classmates who were settled in the corner of the establishment, studying quietly.

"I am so sorry for being late," she began as she approached the group, settling into the spare seat between two of her classmates and setting her bag down beside her seat. "I slept through my alarm," she sheepishly says, sighing as she took out her things and set it onto a small section of the table.

One of her classmates, a girl with short black hair, smiles kindly at her. "It's okay. We figured you might've been late — I mean, the idol life sure sounds like it'd be busy," she giggles as Raehyun gave her a thankful glance.

"We're going over surgery protocols then medical terms for the upcoming exam," another classmate updates the singer, gesturing to a stack of blue flash cards he had made back at home. "Is there anything you need help with?" he asked Raehyun who hummed in thought before shaking her head 'no'.

The small group of college students studied peacefully with minor interactions between each other, only make comments and helping each other when someone asked a question.

"Hm, we've been studying for a while..," Raehyun mumbled to the group, checking her phone to see it was already 3 in the afternoon; she had left the dorm at 11 in the morning and the study group was set to meet at 9. "Shall we take a break?" she asked her classmates, smiling behind her mask as she closed her textbook and notebook, shoving them into her bag.

Agreeing with the idol, her peers packed away their things and decided to hang out inside the cafe before disbanding and returning home.

"Raehyun-ah, how do you do it?" her female peer asked, leaning back in her chair as she spoke to her famous classmate.

"Do what?" Raehyun asked, pulling down her mask to take a sip of her drink before pulling up her mask again.

"Be a celebrity and go to college. I think I would die from being so busy every day," her classmate clarified as she expressed her awe for the singer.

Raehyun giggles, waving a hand at the girl. "You get used to it after doing it for a while," she shrugged her shoulders before her phone started to ring. "Sorry," she excused herself from her classmates and walked off to answer her phone call.

"Oh, Hyun-ah! When are you coming back?" Hongjoong said once the call was connected, the sound of feet shuffling filled the empty air indicating that he was either moving or someone else was. "We were planning of getting dinner all together for the night," he added.

"You're the decision breaker!" a voice said in the background. Mingi.

Raehyun chuckles, shaking her head slightly at her tall friend and bandmate. "Alright. I'll come back now then," she says, ending the call after saying goodbye and returned to her classmates, informing them of her members wanting to gather for dinner and bid them goodbye as she left the cafe; back to the dorms.
