sibling day out

"i'm leaving!" raehyun yells out to the entire door, slipping on her black high-top converse as seonghwa turned the corner of the entranceway.

"where are you going?" the 'mother' of the group asked the female standing in front of the dorm front door, dressed casually in a pair of light-wash mum jeans and a tucked-in vintage pale red top. the female also had a beige tote bag hanging from her non-dominant arm.

"today's sibling day out," raehyun pouts at the male.

sibling day out is essentially a day where raehyun meets with her little brother; hyunjun and spends the entire day with him. during this day, the two spend their time catching up with one another and talking about future plans regarding their current situation in life.

"ah, that's right," seonghwa nodded with a smile, waving goodbye to the beaming female who giggled and slipped out the front door.

today, the two kim siblings chose to meet up at the cafe near their father's hospital. hyunjun was volunteering at their father's hospital with some of his high school friends and had asked to take the day off to see his older sister - additionally, raehyun was always having a day off from work so it worked out perfectly fine.

"jun-ah!!" the idol beams, waving a hand enthusiastically at her little brother who entered the cafe dressed in a pair of jeans and an ateez hoodie that raehyun had gifted him. "what the...are you wearing out merch?" she eyed the young adult who chuckled and nodded.

"gotta represent the hyungs," hyunjun responded with a smile, though his sister couldn't see it due to his mask. "have you ordered yet?" he asked the female who sat across from him with crossed legs.

shaking her head, raehyun sets her phone down onto the table and leans back against the chair she sat on. "no, i was waiting for you to arrive," she tells the boy, running a hand through her short hair. "can you order? the cashier has been staring at me since i've got here..." she muttered softly.

hyunjun raised an eyebrow at his sister, turning his gaze to the worker standing at the cashier. it was a man who was taking very obvious glances at the two's table - sometimes pulling out his phone and taking a photo of the two siblings like a creep. "got it. iced americano and matcha cake?" he asked the female for confirmation who merely nodded with a small smile.

watching her brother walk away from the table, raehyun picks up her phone and checks for any messages she may have missed since meeting up with her brother. she had gotten one from a group chat with some classmates at her college and a few from the pandora group chat. responding quickly to the messages, raehyun sets her phone down as hyunjun sits in front of her.

"so...how's college?" hyunjun asked raehyun who pouts behind her mask, slouching as she childishly crossed her arms. "is it that bad?" he chuckled at her.

"no...it's just a lot of workload," raehyun answered. "i swear, i pull all-nighters twice a week just to finish my college workload. it's fine though. it's for when i retire being an idol," she let out a heavy sigh, closing her eyes as she tilted her head side to side for stretching.

"must be difficult," hyunjun chuckled at his sister, his hands linking together as they rested in his lap. "i haven't gotten my results for the entrance exam yet...i'm so nervous to get them back..," he trailed off.

raising an eyebrow, raehyun narrows her brunette eyes at the male in front of her. "what are you talking about? surely, you would've passed. you studied hard for it?" she assured him.

the two continue their conversation before the disk on the table vibrate, signalling their orders were ready. hyunjun had gone to retrieve the drinks and cake, setting the tray onto the table for the two siblings to enjoy. the kim siblings stayed in the cafe a little longer before heading out to the shopping mall in seoul, spending money on each other and other necessities they needed at home.
