Y/N
Today is the day that everything changes, the 4th of July wedding and of course the new beginning. All I can say was I'm glad that I'm able to spend my life with the woman love, and cared about. As I look back on the moments I had with Kamala, tears began to form as I looked at the wedding ring I'm about to place on her hand. Everything seems quiet, as I got ready for the big day, Kamala left early with the ladies to the white house with the dress.
Joe and Hunter came by getting our tuxedos ready.
"Today's the day you'll finally marry Kamala." Kamala's father said as I smiled nervously.
"I'm a little bit scared though." I said as my little cousins Zachary and Ezekiel came with in wearing a formal wear.
"You look great son." Joe said as we hugged.
"I just wish your dad was here to see this moment happen." He said as I took a deep breath, there the limousine was parked outside as we hurried into the car, the police began escorting us to the white house, as I looked out the window, paparazzi start taking photos of us. Soon as we was followed by the police and marching band.
"Joe, this is not what I had in mind." I said as he laughes.
"This was your father's idea." He said as I looked shocked.
Dad wanted a marching band at my wedding, as I remembered when he and mom got married he had the band perform at his wedding too. I smiled a little as I held on to the photo of my dad to give to mom. This day is gonna be special.
I even wrote my vows on the note few weeks ago, practing over and over again. It felt like a unexpected experience. I can't wait, and when it happens. The first thing I'm gonna do is probably cry...
Soon we arrived to the white house, as guest cars are already parked, people walking in and being greeted by congressmen. I was escorted out the car while heading inside, there Maya waited as she smiled and hugged me.
"I'm so proud of you Alex..." She tearfully said as we hugged. Meena showed up with her daughters who are the flower girls came smiling as they jumped with excitement.
"Your finally our uncle!" Amara said joyfully.
"Not yet, wait until he's married first okay?" Meena said reassuring them.
In the other room where Meena came out of, that's the bridal room where Kamala is. I wanted to see her but of course I had to wait until she comes out. I sighed patiently as I walked through the halls, being greeted by many people with smiles on my face, even celebrities like John Legend, Jimmy Kimmel, Maya Rudolph, and many more came.
"Congratulations son." Mom said as we hugged tightly.
"Today is your biggest day, I just wish your father was here to see it." She said feeling down.
"I know, at least I know he's here in spirit." I said looking up at the clear blue sky and sunny. I know he's watching us from above, smiling I bet to myself as wind began to blow in distance.
I looked over to see Kamala's other family came by as well, being greeted by the president as I walked over smiling and waving.
"There's the man of the hour." Joe said as I walked over smiling. Kamala's grandmother hugged me.
"Shyamala and your father would be so proud." She said as I beamed. I really wanted to see her, in her dress but her friends and Jill told me not to go in.
"Sorry Alex, wait till the bride is ready." Michelle said as I laughed.
"Come on I need to see my queen." I said as Meena jaw dropped.
