Chapter 75: Celebrating in DC

After we got comfortable settling into our home, Kamala and I left for the White House to meet up with Joe and Jill. It's been few weeks since we last saw them so Kamala suggested we should pay them a visit, even though we just arrived back from California. The fact that Joe had the baby's room decorated beautifully is astonishing as ever. Plus, the gifts that Jill had prepared for Kamala from her birthday few days ago is wonderful.

"It's great to be back home in DC, and you wanna know what else is great?" I asked as Kamala gave me the playful side eye.

"What else is grateful, hmm?" She questioned as I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

"I get to spend more time with my beautiful wife." I planted a kiss on her forehead then proceeded to kiss her cheek till we our lips connected becoming one.

"Hold on romeo. We have to visit Joe first at the office. I wanted to thank him and Jill for the gifts." She said getting her professional attire out and headed upstairs to change.

"At least let me watch you change into your clothes, you know seeing that big booty of yours turns me on." I teased as Kamala playfully tapped my wrist.

"My butt is not that big." Kamala said while changing her clothes.

"It is to me, especially your hips so beautiful and curvy Momala." I kept on watching her physique as I bit my lower lip in excitement watching her.

"Okay lover boy." We kissed as I left the room and tend to our puppy Kali who started nibbling on my workbag.

"Hey, come here girl." I called out as she approached running to me. I picked her up and walked upstairs with our puppy up the steps to the bedroom. Every since our return, now comes the big step. Getting back to work is basically on Kamala's mind. The baby's bedroom is decorated beautifully, couldn't help but imagine how things will turn out once our daughter is born. I can picture it now, Kamala sitting down on the sofa bottle feeding baby Shyamala in her arms while crawling the infant. The thought of it made me smile warmly.

"Kali this is your baby sister's bedroom, very soon you'll be able meet to her." I showed Kali the ultrasound photo but of course she wags her tail in excitement by the image. Kamala's next ultrasound appointment is set to be scheduled soon along with the COVID booster.

"I know your excited too girl, we can't wait either."

Kamala then walks out of the bathroom fully dressed and ready. Wearing a long dress with a dark blue dress while showing her baby bump that's now visible.

"Ready love?" I asked as she nodded in reply. We both walk down the steps as we got prepared. I helped put the coat on her as she puts on the scarf

"It's really chilly out, keep warm." I placed the scarf around her to tuck it up nicely. The car started honking again, outside of our home.

"Let's go." We walked hand to hand while leaving the house, locking the door and then proceed on our way in the car. People on the streets watches while waving at our return. Kamala and I waved back through the window. Passing through the streets of Washington while in the vehicle, the town seems to be back into it's normal phase and almost immediately the businesses are up and running, working to reconstruct all in between.

By the time we arrived, we was greeted by the conservatives and senates who welcomed us back. Kamala's staff greeted us with her favorite, German chocolate cake. Joe and Jill smiled as we hugged each other.

"Welcome back, you two."

"It's great to be back in DC after a full three weeks of recovery and celebrating Kamala's birthday." I said holding her hand making Kamala gush.
