Kamala has been struggling with the mass pain she's dealing with as she is so close to give birth to point everything feels uncomfortable to her. Not long after her water breaks she's already crying, experiencing this pain for the first time as a mom soon, she'll be able to hold our baby girl in her arms. Wave of emotions ran through her as she tried not to panic.
Dr. Lain got herself prepared, spreading the cloth on the area Kamala was in before placing the disposable under pad above it while wearing surgical gloves and facemask.
"I need someone to bring in few more items. We already got 2 sets of sheets, but we gonna be needing blanket for the bed." She said as Maya went into the closet and got out the extra blanket.
"We got three towels, four washcloths, and a heating pad." Maya said walking over.
"I got lotion over there on the dresser, I'll bring it over." I rushed over to get the bottle before coming back to Kamala's side.
"Don't worry I got the thermometer ready, just finishing up prepping. Okay, don't worry Madam Vice President Harris everything is gonna be just fine." Dr. Lain reassuring her as Kamala kept trembling slightly in pain as tears fell.
"Baby don't cry, I'm here and I'm not going anywhere." I planted kisses on her cheek as I felt the palm of her hands touching me.
"You got this sis, I believe in you." Maya says grabbing ahold onto Kamala's other hand for support. She got back on the bed gently despite the fact that the pain is hitting her deep, causing her to whimper.
Kamala is almost fully dilated, which brought relief to us because we don't know how long she could handle this unbearable pain like never before, she's 9cm dilated and is ready to give birth any minute.
She took off her gown fully exposed herself as I took my shirt off making skin to skin contact. With Dr. Lain and her doula on standby. Kamala's father bought in the deep bowl to where the placenta will be in as I heard Kali whimpering, who is deeply concerned about Kamala.
Kamala began groaning loudly breathing through another contraction as I placed a cool wash cloth on her forehead as she laid on the pillow facing towards Dr. Lain who is helping with her breathing.
"Your doing great Kamala. Let it flow out, and breathe."
"Yes, breathe baby." I said holding her hand as mom held her left foot.
"You wanna help assist her by joining her on the bed Alex?" Dr. Lain asked as I nodded getting on the bed and letting her lay on my lap.
"Let me know when you're ready baby, I won't rush you."
"Thank you Alex, I feel a little better but the pain is still there." Kamala said as I gave her a kiss on the lips.
"Mom would've been proud if she was here with us to share this moment, watching her first born daughter having a baby for the first time." Maya said happily wiping her tears.
"She's here, to see granddaughter along with dad. How I know this for certain because I can feel their presence. This is a very special moment, as we welcome our child into the world." I said as I became emotional, I wanted him to meet his granddaughter Shy so badly, he would spoil her rotten.
"I know they are son, together we're in this no matter circumstances there may be. This is all about Shyamala Vera Harris, your baby daughter." Mom said as tears brimmed down my face.
"Alex, baby..." Kamala placed a palm of her hand on my cheek.
"I can't wait to began this new chapter with you and Shy." Kamala smiles happily as my heart melted. I can tell everyone has been waiting patiently for this moment to happen.
