Chapter 85: Kennedy Center Honors

After we came home that night from hanging out with Doug at the mall alongside with the kids, my mom and my little cousins went back to the hotel for the remaining evening. Meena, Nikolas took the girls up to the bedrooms and well Kamala, she rested on the couch. I walked over after closing the door to sit beside her as she lays on my lap.

"You feeling alright?" I asked as she nodded getting comfy.

"Yep, just too tired. I really don't feel like getting up tomorrow but, I had no choice. Did you get the email from Bill?" She asked as I nodded.

"Yeah I did. This is my first time attending something so historical with you as the Second Gentleman." I admitted, this is gonna be our first time attending an award ceremony together as a couple.

"Don't worry, that's an annual event. This only occurs every once a year." Kamala reassures me as she sat up.

"I guess your right, well at least we'll have fun again tomorrow." I said as she sat on top of me wrapping her arms around my neck.

"Mhm, you wanna know what else is more fun ?" She began planting kisses on my cheek as I my face flutters.

"Let me guess, cuddling?" I guessed as she nodded in response.

"Want me to run the bath water for you?" I asked.

"No I'm just sleepy, I wanted to rest up with you." She said as I carried her up the stairs to the bedroom. Finally arriving, I laid Kamala on the bed as she got more comfy on the pillow. I went ahead and took off my clothes joining her in bed as she leans in wraps her arms around me. Suddenly we both fell asleep together forgetting about the time and hour. We both was tired all day and on top of that Kamala and I have to go with Joe and Jill to the Kennedy center luncheon tomorrow as apart of the tradition, first time as the second couple of the United States.

December 5 - two weeks before Christmas

The next day came, and it was day of the Kennedy Honors luncheon. I woke up bright and early but still feeling tired from yesterday. Kamala is still asleep peacefully as she lays there snoring while hugging me a little. She really hates it when I'm not in bed to keep her warm.

"Good morning Momala." I said planting kisses on her cheek as she reacts by smiling. Suddenly she grips tighter around my waist as I struggled a little.

"Snuggly." She says as I blushes.

"Babe, your strong...." I managed to say as Kamala then let go waking up as well only to lay on my lap.

"Stay here with me." She demands as she tugs the sheets.

"I have to get ready babe, remember? The 44th annual Kennedy Center Honors luncheon and award ceremony is today." I reminded her as she playfully frowns covering herself in sheets while laying on my lap.

"So? That can wait, we have all day today to spend time together." She said. I knew right then and there she was up to something and was gonna pull a stunt, sadly it's working like charm.

"Baby, I know this is your break but the World needs Madam Vice President to shine for the future generations. And also our daughter wants Momala to show em' that she can fight back." I said as Kamala glares playfully while crawling up to me as she managed to force me onto the bed.

"What about daddy hmm? Do you want me to get to work already knowing I'm away from the office?" She puts on a puppy dog eyes act as I blush.

*sighs*

"Of course not momala, It's not work baby, just showing up for the public appearance. I don't want you to tire yourself."

"Especially when we're about to be parents very soon." She reminded as we kiss.
