CHAPTER 16
Hot

It was already 8 P.M. in the evening.

Sancho parked his car meters away from the cliff.

She heard him laugh.

"Vacation is nearly over. What are your plans? Are you going back to Manila?"

"I don't have plans in mind."

Nilingon siya nito. "Sabay na tayong bumalik."

She turned to him. "Babalik ka pa?" aniya at bahagyang ngumisi. "I thought your heart belongs to Negros."

Sancho smiled. "Yeah, but I have my priotities."

Ayla pursed her lips before nodding. Napainom ulit siya sa hawak na beer.

"Ayaw mo rito?" she asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Here sa province.

He paused before answering. "U.P."

She lifted a brow and nodded.

"Let's go to the same school."

Bahagya siyang napangisi. "Why do you suggest that?"

Napakibit-balikat ito. "I wanna have a friend."

She let out a breath of laughter. "You don't need to add more friends on your list, Sancho." She emptied her bottle and got another one.

"But you're different."

Hindi niya naiwasang matigilan at mapatitig dito. "What do you mean different?"

He smiled then shrugged. "Do I have to explain that?"

She rolled her eyes. "No, if that is something against my part again."

She loved that conversation they were having. They were not strangers. They were not lovers. They were not even friends. They were just...nothing but honestly comfortable in each other's company. If she would only look back to when they started talking, she couldn't imagine how they ended up that way.

"Shit, I'm afraid this drink will make me do crazy things again."

Sancho chuckled. "Like what?"

"Like kissing you."

Natigilan ito at napatingin sa kanya. She knew they were not yet drunk.
