23-Double Date

Riley and I spent the whole week together laughing and telling secrets and studying. Blaine called and texted once a while I think he's trying to give me space.

"Arielle are you okay?" Riley asked.

I laid in my bed staring at her for a little while. "Yes I'm fine".

"Tell me what's wrong?" She ask me again.

"Blaine has been distance since I told him to I was going to to hangout with you".

"Isn't that good?" She laughs.

"Yeah, but I didn't expect him to actually do it. When does Blaine do anything I tell him to do?!" I say.

"Never" she laughs again "I think it's really trying to be better for you but he's in agony".

"How would you know?" I ask her.

"Because he texts me every hour asking about you" she presses buttons on his phone and she shows me.

"I'm sorry about making this about Blaine" I say.

She pulls me into a hug "it's okay I know that you miss him. But your going to see him tonight".

Today's the double date I was surprised he agreed to this. Maybe he's actually trying to be better. "I'm going to text him back before he starts running here" she chuckles and makes her way into the kitchen.

Things between Riley and I were going good we did all the things we used to do such as watch movies, eat a bunch of food and her watching me do homework.

The computer sounds that I got an email. I sit down and check it, it's an email from Yale.

I click on it

"Congratulations Arielle king you have been accepted to Yale university for the year 2021-2022 school year".

I screamed and Riley came running back into the room. I stood staring at the screen in shock.  Riley touches my shoulders shaking me  until I looked up at her.

"What's wrong Arielle" she yells.

"I got accepted to Yale universityyyyy" I scream and we both jump up and down happy.

"I can't believe this Elle I'm so proud of you" she's excited. I already knew I was going to Rhode Island college but maybe this would sway my decision?, I don't know".

I sit on the bed and Riley sits next to me. "What's wrong?" She takes my hands, something about it makes me smile.

"I made the decision to move to Rhode Island for College. But now I don't know Yale is my dream school. I never thought I would get in but here we are".

"You need to do what's right for you. If you think Rhode Island is the best place for you then go there. We will miss you so much but we know your living out your dream and we are proud of you".

I gave him her a forced smile "I think Rhode Island is the place for me. Blaine trying to change my mind like he thinks the distance will separate us".

"What do you think?" She asks.

"I think the distance we will separate us. We never been good with separation" she shakes her head like yeah I know. "But this is a different type of separation. Once I go Elijah is going to have girls coming to the house to date him".

"Blaine loves you he would never cheat on you neither would he allow you to be hurt in anyway".

"I know but-"
