Border patrol was cut short by the attack, Issac went to tell Chiron of it.  That went well, no it didn't.  Issac had feared that Chiron would freak out, Chiron was relatively calm for the centaur in charge of hundreds of demigods of almost all ages.  He didn't know why he thought that Chiron would freak out but he just knew.  He knew that this, a Chimera attack, would mean something.  He knew it would mean something that Chiron just wouldn't tell him, it would be the start.  This was what Issac had dreaded, Chiron not telling him whatever it was for his safety.  Things like this happened, it was a domino effect, one attack leads to another, leads to a bigger issue, leads to demigods cleaning up their parents messes.  That was the life of a demigod, they lived to be heroes, to fight, and become legends.

They lived to do all these things in a short amount of time, before  time could catch up with them.  It always did, demigods died young, they didn't live full lives, they never had.  If a demigod lived too long they were done for, they lost their minds, turned evil, or lost everything.  That was their reality, they lived to serve, when they couldn't anymore it was just a matter of time.  Issac tried not to think of that, he tried to forget the future.  He hated the first day of summer not because of the chores, but because of the new demigods.  Their wide excited eyes, their interest in the new world, and their doomed ambitions.  When Chiron heard of the attack he seemed to age before Issac's eyes.  His hair seemed to gray further, stress lines seemed to increase, and his eyes seemed to dim.  He had nodded slowly and told him to go help give new campers tours.  He had sighed deeply before telling him to take everyone off border duty and switch with some of the other kids.

Issac would go help in armory or the weaponry and give the tours to Zoe.  He hated giving tours, he always forgot to mention something or give an important warning.  He had been at camp year round since he was barely seven, it all was second nature to him.  Zoe had almost been there as long as him but she was better with it, she was better at telling people 'hey don't touch that your hand will burn off' than he was.  How dumb can you be?  It's real lava, yes you will get burned!  "Zoe" he called to her as he returned, she looked a lot better, a lot less I'm about to die and a lot more I'm about to kill you.  So in turn she looked normal again, "can you give these two the tour?" he asked.  She knew it wasn't a question but at least she didn't have to stay sitting there in the sun.

She got up and motioned to the two kids sitting by her, "lets go" she tried to look welcoming.  She wasn't good at it, something about her face was apparently intimating according to Nathan, people were also scared of him but that was his clothing choices.  As they started walking Zoe turned, "I'm Zoe by the way" she mentioned to Maddie, who was still deathly quite.

"I'm Maddie" she said extending her arm, Zoe shook her hand.  Maddie was graceful about it, her hand shake was delicate yet firm.  Zoe thought Maddie shook hands like she had gone to some school for princesses.  She walked softly, almost as if she was trying not to hurt the ground.  Her posture was perfect, straighter than a needle.  She could probably stack three books on her head whilst walking in heels, drinking a cup of hot tea and never spill anything.  Maddie most defiantly could do that, she had practiced when she got bored the nights her dad was working late.  He often worked late when Maddie was in her princess faze, it had been a great pass time.  "Thanks for doing, whatever you did out there" Maddies gestured vaguely down the hill as they approached the cabins.  Zoe shrugged, she didn't know what to really say.  She did what she had to do, she always did.  So she did the logical thing, she said nothing, really welcoming, Zoe thought.

"So" Andy started, "you called this place Camp Half Blood, why?" he asked, Zoe looked at him mildly confused.

"Mick didn't tell you?" she asked, wow, she thought, I'm gonna have to talk to him about that.  He had given Zoe and Nathan the talk as soon as he found them, to clarify at Camp Half Blood the talk was explaining the gods.  It was always hard to explain, always obnoxious, and always required proof.
