"Hey Guys, Can We Not Share Dreams"

Weird was an understatement for what had been going on at camp.  Ever since Paris got there she has sensed something off, a tenseness among the other kids.  At first she had thought it was because of the Chimera, but that wasn't all that odd.  It was normal for kids to be chased to the border by a hungry monster, the fact that it was a Chimera was a little worrisome but normal enough.  She was mainly worried about Chiron, he was acting off and then there was the satyr issue which Zoe had mention to her.  They had been gone after the first night at dinner, hopefully it was just a meeting with the council of cloven elders.  They usually didn't last days but maybe this meeting was special or something.

At the table for breakfast it was quite, Paris had gotten up before both Zoe and Nathan and was still sitting alone.  She twisted the loos fabric at the bottom of her shirt in her fingers in attempt to busy herself.  It really wasn't worth the worry, but the energy in the dining pavilion was heavy.  It was as if everyone felt it, it was weighing down on them all as they tried to act like all was well.  Even the new campers seemed to feel it hanging over all of their shoulders.  She glanced up and saw Issac taking his seat at the Athena table, he looked up and met her eyes with a smile before quickly looking away.  She couldn't help but notice the dark circles around his eyes, he probably knew what was going on.  Chiron told him more than most, he even confined in him for help with troubles around camp.  Sometimes she wished she could just know what they talked about, she knew she could help but it was different.  Different was the only way to describe it, weather she was referring to the atmosphere at camp or Chiron talking to Issac about issues.  It was just all a bit different.

"Morning" Zoe said slumping into her seat.  Nathan followed sitting next to her, waving halfheartedly.

Paris' eyes widened, "Good morning, are you guys okay?"

Zoe gave huff that lead her to believe that they were not okay, "Nathan why don't you tell her what happened"

He gave her a look, "This has nothing to do with me".  Zoe narrowed her eyes at him before turning to Paris and mouthing 'it has everything to do with him'.  He rolled his eyes, "Well last night around, uh. . ." he turned to Zoe, "what would you say?"

     "Really freaking late, past midnight"

"Okay that works I guess, well I learned how to travel via dreams, like in my sleep" Paris looked at the two of them still rather confused and slightly concerned.  "Well I accidentally traveled into Zoe's dreams after I had a nightmare".

He looked at Zoe and she continued the story, "I was having a perfectly normal dream but then he showed up and I got transported into his nightmare".

"That's not supposed to happen" Paris noted resting her check against her fist.

"Exactly!" Nathan exclaimed, "It wasn't supposed to happen, I don't even know how I did that"

"Wait, what was the dream?" Paris asked, whatever it had been must have kept them both up, Nathan's eyes were slightly bloodshot and Zoe's eyelids were heavy.

They both seemed uncomfortable with that question, Zoe looked around as if to make sure no one was listing to them.  "Uh, it was pitch black" she looked at Nathan when he nodded she continued, "A really deep voice, it was like trying to warn us"

Nathan cut in, "the voice was warning us but whoever it was wanted us to do something.  What they warned us about was what they wanted us to do" he sucked in a breath recalling the voice from the night before, it was cold but not like ice.  It was the type of cold that pains your head after drinking a milkshake too fast, the type of cold that resonates within a person.  It was scarier than any brain freeze thought, it was consuming and painful.
