Paris brought riptide down on top of a Muppets helmet, denting the metal slightly with the force. They crumbled at her feet and she turned quick enough to swipe her sword right through the belly of a monster. Her shoes left a design in the golden dust as she stepped through it, twisting her blade before impaling yet another monster.
Several of the monsters, one's she fought before she had a chance to identify, sneered at the anchinet blade in her hand. She didn't mind, their disgust was an opening. Still, she wondered if their resentment for her weapon came from previous wars and previous demigods who had welded it with the same expertise she did.
An arrow coming at her was blocked by a cloud of darkness before she could even try to. The shadows faded and Nathan appeared before her, arrow in hand. "Across the battlefield, they are whispering your name."
She blinked, not halting in her fighting to ask, "What did I do?"
"The monsters speak of their slayer and it you, the girl of mist and seafoam."
"Mist and seafoam?" Four more monsters went to dust around them.
Nathan's shoulder pressed to her's as they continued to fight, "It's not as humid outside of your bubble here, nor is it misting."
She didn't know she was doing anything, she just knew what was in front of her. "Seafoam?"
He hurled a knife right into the eye of a cyclops, "Just accept the cool title."
A smile worked it's way onto Paris' face. The girl of mist and seafoam kept on fighting with her famed blade, and foes kept falling.

Nathan had moved to Paris' side for one main reason, the muppets were avoiding her, their whispers made him curious. Aside from that, he'd made a habit of moving to different places wherever help was needed, he could get there faster than anyone. Another few movements and he took down a monster. Somewhere far from where they were standing, an explosion sounded.
His head had been clear since the visit with his father, but something strong stabbed through the fog on his senses. He gasped. Paris turned slightly towards him, "Are you okay?"
It took him a moment to find words as the cold speared his head, "Alex is dead."
"What?"
"Alex died."
Paris stopped fighting for a moment, the monster attacking her ran, likely in fear of whatever she would do. "How?"
He shook his head, unable to read that far into it. Well, more so, he didn't want to. "We'll see when were done."
She nodded, fixing her grip on her sword. "We'll see."

They needed to move, but Keria had no idea how to get out of that burned out minefield. Zoe had pulled out of her arms, stood up on shaking legs, but she didn't look like she could fight. In fact, Zoe looked like she had already fought in the war. Despite the bloodied palms, Zoe held her sword in her hand just watching.
Zander was a different story, he hadn't moved an inch. He just sat there weeping with his sister in his arms. Keria didn't touch him, didn't dare go near him. He was over the edge already and looked like he would plunge into the deep end in mere moments. She walked by him, someone would need to save them from their own prisons.
She stopped a foot off to his side, "Zander, we need to move."
He didn't look up at her. "I can't leave her," his tears fell onto Alex's ashn face. Her eyes were still open and unseeing.
