Trains, Buses, and Bombs

That Tuesday morning everyone packed and met at the top of Half Blood Hill, Issac went over his plan pacing back and forth but other than that they were ready.  Zoe hadn't been able to get anything super helpful out of Thalia the night before but she insisted that she told her everything she knew.   The last to arrive at the hill that morning was Chiron with a man in long sleeves and black pants.  The weird part was that he was covered in eyes, they were on every showing inch of his body.  Andy had never seen anything like him before, he didn't know if he should be scared but the eyes made him uneasy.

A hand waved in front of his face, "It's rude to stare" Mick said and Andy averted his eyes from the mans many eyes.  Most of the time when he had been at school with Mick he had carried a crutch but he had seen him without one a few times like the day they had arrived at camp.  Today he had one, he had said that he could also use it if fighting became necessary unfortunately Andy thought it would.

Chiron stepped into their ear shot, "This is Argus, he will be driving you to the bus station today".  Argus waved an eye covered hand at them and smiled.  Out of the corner of his eye he saw Nathan grab Zoe's arm and tell her something in a panicked manor.  He couldn't hear their conversation but Zoe seemed to be trying to convince Nathan it was fine, judging by the look on his face it was not going well.

Chiron called for their attention, "Here" he handed Issac one hundred dollars.

"Uh, thank you but were are going to need a bit more than that" Issac said regretfully.

"Hmph, one hundred worked last time"

"I'm sure you have heard of what is happening in our economy, there is inflation and stuff" Zoe snorted at Issac's words.

"Ah I see" Chiron reached into his pocket and handed Issac a wad of fresh cash, "This should do".  He surveyed the six of them standing in a semicircle before them, "Zoe, Issac I would like a moment to speak to you too in private.  The rest of you go to the car with Argus"  they did as they were told but Nathan shot Zoe a look before following the rest of them.

"What is it?" Zoe asked as the others walked out of ear shot

"I wanted to make sure that you kept into account what I told you the other day"

"Well, sir" Issac waved his hands frantically as he talked, "It is really hard to forget that you told us we needed to save the world so"

"I suppose so, I believe in you.  All of you, good luck" Chiron said, his eyes growing distant.  Zoe and Issac said their goodbyes and turned to leave camp.  Zoe looked back at Thalia's tree and breathed in the sent of pine and warm strawberries, trying to shake the feeling that this might be the last time she smelt it.  The last time she saw home.  She pushed all of those thoughts back, they wouldn't get her anywhere.  Yet she still worried, she had tried to forget what Nathan had told her but he was a child of Hades.  Last time when he said those same words, he was right.

She turned to leave and saw Issac a few steps in front of her looking back on camp, "Lets go."

"Oh, um yeah" they turned, walking down the hill to the car.

As all six of them squeezed into the two back rows of the car Argus started the drive into town, "Feels weird to be leaving" muttered Nathan.

"Feels weird being in a normal car" Paris said looking out the window, "Usually ride in limos"

"Whoa you ride in limos?" asked Andy, turning around in his seat to face them.
