"The sun isn't even up yet" Zoe complained, for some reason Issac had insisted they wake up and move before people started arriving.  They had arrived in D.C. later than scheduled the night before, they barley had any money left so they had to sleep outside.  They had wondered through the streets looking for somewhere to settle down but eventual they were just tired and the Lincoln memorial was just there.  She thought it was stupid to sleep at a national monument but they settled under the tree and started watch shifts.  At some point she had fallen into a light sleep, her dreams had been off.  Go back, it was the same deathly voice from Nathan's dream, join me, the darkness had seemed to take life.  To sum it up it had been a rough night which in turn made it a rough morning.

"Complain all you want, getting caught out here would delay us"  Issac said, "and I think this may be our opening".  He traced his fingers over the structure, occasionally knocking or listing to the stone.

"And why would it be here?"

"It's modeled after Greek temples, it makes sense", she rolled her eyes at his response but kept her eyes open for anything out of the ordinary.  There had been a class at camp on the basics of finding hidden entrenches, she had gone after Chiron practically made it mandatory for all head counselors.  He had said that they were the most likely to be sent on a quest so it was important to know, she was twelve at the time and the only thing she remembered was what they called the golden rule, look for the ordinary and you'll find the opposite.

"Please do not deface a memorial" Andy pleaded

She shook her head, "we aren't gonna deface a memorial just pry a little"

           "That sounds illegal"

"Not if no one finds out" Nathan said drawing two of his knives, "when we find it be ready it won't be unguarded".  She felt his gaze on her back and resisted the urge to tell him how paranoid he was.  She knew what he was worried about and she didn't have time to worry about it too.  They had a mission, they had a goal, she would not let worries get in her way, or voices and dreams, she would succeed, they all would, it was the only option.  She turned to meet his gaze, making a show of drawing her sword, flipping its hilt over her hand and setting the flat of the blade on her shoulder as she held it loosely.  Zoe was the most powerful demigod of their generation, her father was the king of gods, she was lighting and it coursed though her veins, she would not be stopped.  She could not be stopped and wouldn't until everyone knew her name mortals and demigods alike.

She had no grand plan because she did not need one, she would get what she wanted and justice would be served.  No worry would get in her way because she was above that.  She didn't want to admit it but she was only on this quest because there was no way in hell she was gonna let Kronos' evil revenge plan on the gods ruin her own little revenge plan.  She took a long deep breath, she had things to save she had better motives to saving the would she knew that.  She had friends and she loved them, she did even when they were overly paranoid.  As she turned the corner she grazed her finger tips over the wall feeling for electricity, there are things more important than revenge Zoe, she told her self but she didn't know if she even believed it.  She continued to walk farther away from her friends voices, they are more important than revenge.  That was true but she couldn't shake the feeling that she would throw her own life away just to see his fall with it.

"Hey we think-"  Mick's voice flattened as he walked to her, his eyes trailed her face searching, "your fuming I can feel it".

             Freaking satyrs, "no I'm not"
