Issac was dimly aware of everyone around him as he had been for about the past forty-eight hours. It had been almost two days since his best friend told him the prophecy that may predict the end of his life. Equally terrible, the end of the world. A presence warmed his arm and he glanced at Paris, by his side watching out of the window. "I slept for over a day after that water shield," she said. "What's your issue?"
He swallowed his shock, "My issue?"
"You're wallowing."
He swallowed again, his throat suddenly dry, "This is terrifying." He gestured to the monster outside the window.
Her eyes were as clear as tropical waters, "That's not it."
"Why?"
"Why?" Her head tilted to the side, a small smile gracing her lips.
He smiled a little bit, before simply saying, "Don't worry about it."
Paris looked like she wanted to argue on whether or not she should worry about it, but then Zoe returned to the room with Andy a step behind her. She didn't speak, but everyone drew their attention to her. It was as if the whole room knew she would do something.
As predicted, Zoe unrolled the map they had secured of the city. She pulled out the markers and placed them in five locations. Every movement was definite, like she knew everything. Andy was standing behind Zoe, his head leaned to one side as he watched her. His eyes revealed nothing of his knowledge of whatever the hell she was doing. Finally, the daughter of Zeus crossed her arms and stepped back. "We need these spots covered before noon today, they will come and when they do, they will search for weakness."
Issac found himself leaving the window and taking a seat, "How do you know this?"
She winked, "Let's worry about strategy, Brain-Boy."
His scowl was almost involuntary. Andy just shrugged. So they just did what they always did, they planned.

Maddie was gonna throw up. Or cry. Or both. She wasn't sure she could breathe, move, or do anything about this. Matt had disappeared from her sight in less time than she believed possible, he was gone in a flash, like a fucking super hero. He had been in front of her with a sad smile on his face, I do like you.
Her breathes where heaves as she watched that flaming building. She could feel the heat, somehow having moved closer without registering her steps. The fire flared as another strong wind fed it, it still wasn't raining. More lightning flashed in the sky and she hated Zeus. She hated the gods. Even more, she hated Kronos.
He was her best friend in a different way than Cassidy was. He was her. . . he was her's. At least he would've been. A hand on her chest, she focused her vision best she could at the lower end of that building and that's when she saw it. Laying a safe distance away from the building, people started to be visible and if she looked closely, Matt.
Matt was running faster than she had ever seen him move, but that blurry figure was him going in and out of that apartment building. Chiron always called them heroes and that was what Matt was. The centaur would be proud, Maddie would not. She was already planning on being pissed at him when he got back to her side. If he got back to her side.
She remembered that story of the last child of Hermes with Matt's power. That they overused their power and died saving people, Nathan had told them that story so simply. He told her the story like it wasn't concerning. Now, looking at the fire she could see their stories meshing in the ash.
