Andy's first stop was the hair salon, apparently they had an older sister who worked there. Maddie and Ryle had gone to visit her a couple times before, her name was Opal and from what he knew about her she was quite eccentric. Matt had accompanied him, seeing as they had been attacked by a horde of monsters they decided to look in pairs. When he got to the salon he asked for Opal and waited on a couch with Matt who was tapping his foot at a borderline concerning speed. "Your sister will be fine," he blurted out.
"I hope you're right," he said because that was all he could do. He could only hope Maddie was alive and well. He could only hope her guts weren't smeared to a wall as they spoke, that he wasn't too late. He knew they were destined to have short lives but he wasn't supposed to outlive his little sister. He'd seen Calvin get stabbed after he poisoned himself, he'd seen someone die young. He'd heard from Zoe exactly how Dean died, one cut and a pool of blood. Everyone seemed to have confidence that that wasn't going to end up being his sister, Andy wished he could feel the same.
"You asked for me?" Asked a woman in her mid twenties. Her hair was curly and dyed bright pink, she was wearing a white maxi dress paired with hot pink combat boots. Her skin had vertigo, most prominent around her smile of pink lipstick. She wore gold bangles and layered necklaces, he didn't miss the gold handled knives strapped to either of her shoes, definitely a demigod.
Andy stood, "Yes, Opal? I'm Andy. . . I'm your brother- you've met my full sister Maddie."
She smiled brightly, "Of course, nice to meet you," she pointed to Matt, "Who's this?"
Matt waved, "I'm a friend, Matt." he shook her hand.
She raised an eyebrow, "I've heard about you. So your hair looks fine, what do you need?"
Andy shrugged, "I was wondering when you last saw Maddie?"
"She was here last week with Ryle, haven't seen her since. Why?"
"We don't really know where she is,"
Her smile dropped, "Oh, how long has she been missing?"
"Since dinner yesterday."
"Well they say you don't have to worry until forty- eight hours are up. Most people are found within forty-eight hours."
He briefly thought of Zoe's stepdad, who called off the search parties after forty-eight hours and his own dad who let it happen. "I'll tell you when we find her, thank you Opal."
She smiled again, though this time it looked a little strained. "Anytime, and do tell the rest of cabin ten I say hello."
He dipped his head and left the salon, Matt behind him. "What did she mean by saying that she had heard about me?" Matt asked.
Andy turned to him, "That she had heard about you before."
He nodded, "That makes sense."
"Fuck," Andy whispered grabbing his arm and pulling him behind the corner.
"Whoa, dude what's wrong?" his eyes were wide.
His day really couldn't get fucking worse, "I think I just saw my ex."
"Oh, the one that cheated on you?"
"There's only one, Leah will talk to me. You have to hide me,"
"Where am I supposed to hide you? You're like a head taller than me."
"Andy?" Leah rounded the corner, "I didn't expect to see you here!" Why gods? Why must you hate me?
"Leah! Hi!" he attempted to smile.
