Zoe and Issac made eye contact, he nodded and handed her her sword from his pocket. They could hear members of the Titan army advancing on their location, shouts in the distance and running. Nathan moved next to her, "Are you okay?"
She nodded, ignoring the look of doubt he gave her when she set her hand on his arm and steadied herself. "What direction are they coming from?"
Matt smiled sheepishly, "Everywhere(?)"
Nathan sighed and reached inside his jacket, drawing several knives, "Who is still unarmed?"
Sam's cracked a smile, "How many knives do you have on you?"
He held up a hand and looked up in thought, "Uh. . ." he counted on his fingers, "Let's just say a lot."
Issac looked at the three tunnels that they had come through, "Sam?"
Sam looked up from his bag, "Hmm?"
"Have any vines in there?"
"Always do,"
"So can you block off the exits?"
He made a face, "Yeah," he threw a seed into each entry and stuck his hand out. Poison ivy popped out of the ground from each spot, it crawled up the walls and covered the area like a giant spider web. She looked at Nathan who was staring in awe, she elbowed him and flashed a knowing grin.
He glared down at her, "Honestly Z, leave me alone,"
"Honestly Nathan, no,"
"I miss Paris,"
"And I miss when we had a border to protect us instead of unnaturally thick poison ivy,"
"Alright guy," Issac called, getting everyone's attention. He seemed off to her, maybe it was the fact that he ended up killing Dean but it was clear that he wasn't at the top of his game. He was shakier than usual, a little more flustered, and he was talking a little quicker than his usual speed. He hadn't spoken much since they got moving, he had asked for and in depth rendition of the entire quest. She had given it to him and now she was almost wishing that was what she was doing in the moment because she was in a lot less pain when she was distracted.
He had a cut on his shoulder too, it wasn't deep but she wondered if it was affecting him. Maybe it hurt his pride, she didn't hear anything Dean said to him. Maybe it hit too close to home. She had heard Issac ramble about the power of words, she had made fun of him for it quite a few times, maybe he was right though. He was probably fine. She didn't think she should worry about it. They had a world to save and she didn't even know if they could do that. "I have a formation, we call it the semicircle, I believe you're all familiar."
His eyes traveled among them, "Zoe stay in the back, Nathan I want you and Sam in the front, I don't care where anyone else is." He took a long breath, Zoe didn't even have time to argue with him about being in the back before a voice came from above.
"Intruders, escaped prisoners, which one of you was dumb enough to press the red button?" Amy cackled, something in her voice didn't sound quite right. There was an edge, almost as if someone else was talking with her. "As you can tell I'm safe in my office," she laughed, "I feel like a thirty year old. Anyway we have you surrounded, as you can probably tell. Now I doubt you kids realized we had cameras on you this whole time." Her laugh was literally the textbook evil laugh and it sent shivers down her spine.
She twisted her sword in her hand, comforted by its weight. "Wow Zoe," Amy spoke- her voice was out of character. "A sword can't protect you from something you cannot see. Different note, Issac I did not pin you as a murderer. There is still blood on your hands by the way," his grey eyes darkened. "What else surprised me? Oh right! Cassidy Jones, the little traitor, it's a good thing I have suspected you since the day you joined. I do wonder what Calvin would think about all of this. His little sister, the one who he did everything for, working for the very people that killed him." Her voice grew more deranged as she continued on, "You people have murdered and killed much more than we have, yet were the bad guys." She laughed, "It's embarrassing to watch you spin in circles trying to convince yourselves that you're right."
