When I awoke the next morning, I was surprisingly the first to be up. Considering I had been awake in the middle of the night for about two hours I would have thought I wouldn't be up before midday. Oh, I wasn't. My watch currently said it was 12:30. Well, I guess the other boys really did drink a lot if they were still sleeping. Even though I hadn't drunk a single drop of alcohol, my head was pounding, and I bet my eyes were red. Crying always had that effect on me. Well, if I were cool I could say I got high. Concidering I was not someone concidered as cool, the others would probably just laugh at me. Okay, crying it was then.... Deciding to get some medicine later on, I quickly checked if I really was the only one awake before snuggling further into Ryan's chest. Not that I would care if our friends knew about us, but I knew Ryan did. And even if I couldn't understand it, I was willing to respect his wishes.
Somehow, I must have fallen asleep again because the next time I was woken up by voices, barely kept quiet. "Oh, look at them!" "Yeah, I could have sworn Liam would beat the shit out of Ryan as soon as he would try to cuddle..." Jeremy laughed. Oh, if only they knew. "We should take a picture. So we will always have something to blackmail them!" Before any of them could take out their phones, Ryan stirred in his sleep and our friends ran out of the room to not get caught watching us sleep. Well, too late! But I had to say, we really did have a weird group of friends. Two boys cuddling really were the most interesting things going on in their lives?!
"Morning..." Ryan's raspy morning voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I smiled. "Morning!" I could see how my boyfriend began to remember last night's events as he began to frown. "I'm so sorry about your family... How are you?" I grimaced. "Can we please not talk about it? At least not now?" He sighed put obliged anyways and gave me a kiss. "Okay. Now let's get up, I really have to go to the bathroom." I groaned. "I have to go too..." With that I jumped up and started running, Ryan hot on my heels. I would not let him get there first!
Around three hours later we sat in Benn's bus once again, on our way home. Somehow, we ended up to never go skiing but jogging for exercise and the rest of yesterday we spent exploring the small city near the cabin.
And because apparently it had worked so well driving there, Ryan and I had to sit in the back, squished up against each other, again. Not that I really was complaining, but a bit more space would have been nice. But maybe we would get more space after the next brake. Because currently we were examining who was better at telling jokes and I think the others were a bit annoyed by us. So I hoped they would let me sit in the front after the next break.
They didn't. But it didn't matter, because Ryan and I both fell asleep, his head on my shoulder and mine above his. I bet our friends took a picture this time, since no one would believe them in school if they told that me and Ryan would be peacefully sleeping next to each other....
When we finally arrived at home, I had to get Ethan. I really had missed him. Two days may not be much but since we practically had spent each day together since he had been born, it felt like an eternity to me.
"Lili!" A little "Uff" escaped me when my brother ran into me, pressing his head against my stomach full force. "Hey Ethan. I missed you!" "I missed you too!", well, I think that's what he said. Because he still had his face smouched against my upper body I couldn't really understand his words. "Hey Liam! How was the trip?" I bent down to take Ethan into my arms, he didn't seem to want to let go any time soon. "Hello Betty! The trip was fun, but I missed my little brother. Thanks again for looking after him!" The woman just waved me off. "I told you I don't mind. You raised an angel here. How about you come inside we eat cake, and you tell me all about your weekend? I bet it was fun, having your boyfriend with you!" She winked at me and turned around. What? How? Oh, Ethan! "Nope! I can see it every time you take the boy with you when you pick up Ethan!", Betty called from the living room. Shit, I had said that out loud? "Yep!" Oops.
Resituating Ethan on my hip I stepped inside the house and closed the door after me. At least I didn't have to make myself crazy about a coming out in front of Betty anymore.
"How is it even possible to see that I like Ryan? It's not like I look at him constantly, do I?", I asked Betty. The fact that she had discovered our relationship was still kinda going crazy on me. "No, not at all. But when you do, I can see the love in your eyes.", she smiled at me fondly. Love? Did I LOVE Ryan? We had been boyfriends for about a month. I couldn't love him, right?
