Chapter 41
When Danny walked out of his study he felt absolutely drained. He just wated to go to sleep and just not wake up for awhile. At least the issue he had to deal with is done. Walking towards where the kitchen was to grab a small snack before heading to his room for a nap, Belen stopped him.
"Your highness," Danny inwardly groaned as he let his hand slip away from the refrigerator, he just wanted a snack, what could be wrong now? Still, the young prince turned to the ghost speaking to him.
"Yes Belen?"
"Miss Phantom wants to see you?" This caught Danny's attention, his eyebrows furrowing in both confusion and worry. "Why? Is she okay? Are the kids okay?"
Belen only shrugged apologetically, "I wasn't aware of what but she might want to talk about the wedding or coronation." Danny nodded, physically relaxing as he let Belen guide the way.
However, it wasn't until they reached the ballroom that Danny once again became confused.
"Um, Belen this is the ballroom?"
"I'm aware sire," he said with a smile before knocking on the large doors in front of them. Slowly, the doors opened and Danny walked through with Belen following.
Before Danny had a chance to take in how the room was decorated there was a shout of "Surprise!" by many people and ghosts alike. Immediately, Danny placed a hand onto where his heart was and felt the pounding of it.
He never expected a surprise party. He wasn't liked or cared for by many, only close friends and family. He never expected this.
Was he surprised?
Absolutely.
"I know you said that you didn't want anything big for your birthday but I wanted to show you how much we appreciate you and everything that you do."
Danny stared at his girlfriend, different emotions running through his veins but he knew he could pick out love.
Was this how his parents felt once upon a time?
'God', he thought as he continued to stand there taking in the view or the room and the smiling faces of his makeshift family, 'I'm going to miss this.'
Forcing a smile on his face the teen hero spoke with certainty, "I love it" and gave his two best friends a hug, which they gladly reciprocated. Suddenly, three voices of giggles came through the crowd and barreled onto Danny, who slightly stumbled at the new weight against him.
"Did you like your surprise?"
"Did we scare you?"
"Of course we didn't, Dad is never scared of anything."
Danny chuckled as he stared down at the three young faces. "I loved my surprise, no I was not scared but there are times when I do get scared but that's completely fine," as he said this, he bent down to their level and gave all three a hug. He loved that the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves even if it was to decorate for a party.
"Alright, alright," Tucker said as he broke the hug, excitement showing on his face, "are we going to party or not?"
Danny gave a smile as he stood back up.
"Hell yeah."
It only took Danny a second to realize what he said but it was too late.
"Ow! Sam! It's my birthday!"
"Don't curse in front of the kids."

*shuffles back in*
Hi guys *waves* been a while, huh? I know everyone's having a sucky time with the pandemic and we've all gone through our own fair share of things. It's been a hard two years honestly for everyone, so I'm gonna spare everyone the little details of my life from here. If you really want to know what I've been up to I will put an explanation on my wattpad wall thingy.
I am now 21 (whoop whoop!) and I've been writing this book since I was in middle school. I did say I was going to finish it no matter what and here I am.
Anyway, I know this chapter is short. That was a case of writers block to be honest. Consider this as a filler chapter cause the big stuff is coming.
This chapter is mostly from Danny's point of view, we can see him obviously going through some stuff but what exactly?
We're gonna have to read to find out.P.S I have seen the notifications everyday. I see the comments, the votes, and the follows. They honestly make my day and I appreciate each and every one of you who love this story and continue to love it. To those that supported me from Day 1 when I posted it and are still here, thank you so much. I hope you continued to do so and I hope you all enjoy this chapter.
