Chapter 28
Mr. Lancer couldn’t help the squeal of excitement that erupted from him as he bounced excitedly by the door. The amount of knowledge and culture that awaited him just beyond this very door was exhilarating to him, oh how his coworkers back in Amity Park would be so jealous.
Danny knocked on the door, being the polite teen he always tried to be especially when it came to his mother’s home. Waiting patiently, he rocked back and forth on the heel of of his feet, whistling the tune of Steamboat Willie from Mickey Mouse’s first cartoon while his classmates just awkwardly stood there until they heard the patter of feet and a click from the door. Immediately he stopped his rocking along with his whistling and stood there innocently until the door fully opened to reveal a ghost who had some armor covering it's body and a sword at it’s side.
“Your highness?”
Every head swiveled directly at Danny in such a fast moment that sounds of necks cracking were heard, making a few wince. “Highness?!” Danny however, ignored the shock states of his classmates and gave a smile to the guard, “Hey Belen, you look surprised to see me?” The guard immediately shook his head, “No of course not your Majesty, we were just expecting you to come a bit later,” his Greek accent noticeable to the humans as he opened the door to let them through.
Immediately eyes darted everywhere to marvel at the beautiful designs on the wall that were aligned with Vines and flowers, making a beautiful garden on the wall. They took notice of the grand staircase in the middle of the entryway that lead to different hallways and rooms making them feel as if they were in Beauty and the Beast.
Past the staircase, on the bottom floor seemed to be one large hallway that directed anyone in one same direction. The wall decorated with more Vines and Greek paintings along with portraits. Tall pillars lining the sides of the walls with gold swirls making it look more royal than it already was.
“Wow..” someone whispered as others nodded, not being able to disagree with whoever said it. It was a marvelous sight to each and every one of them, implanted into their minds forever.
Maddie, however, scowled at the sight scrunching her nose in disgust at the sight of the beautiful monstrosity in front of her. She wasn't jealous of course not, she was curious to how these things were able to live so full of riches. ‘ Unless they stole all of this? No ghost should be able to exist in these conditions when they’re dead. They have no use for it!’
She glanced at her son who was speaking to that ghost that opened the doors for them, a smile gracing his lips. She loved her son, she wished that their relationship didn’t go south like it had but she had to do what was necessary to get that ecto-plasmic scumbag inside of him out of him. As well as get rid of his two so- called best friends.
“So, Belen, I was wondering if we could crash here until hopefully, tomorrow,” Belen only smiled, a small laugh escaping the seemingly young ghost. “Your highness, you are a prince here, there will always be a place for you, you have absolute no need to ask for permission.” Paulina felt her eyes widened as well as the others, “Prince? You’re a p -prince?” Paulina has NEVER stuttered especially to her secret crush but now things were different.
Everything was different.
Danny turned around leaving Sam and Tucker talking to Belen, giving everyone a prize winning smile, “I mean I'm not one for titles but sometimes it's needed, like for Ghost such as Walker. Belen is a good friend and no matter how many times I've told him to just call me Danny he goes right back to using my title.”
He was met with jaws to the floor making the poor hero more embarrassed now, “Uh, look, nothing’s changed, okay? I'm still a loser just because of my title it won't change anything.”
