Chapter 42

The party was in full swing. Two hours in and the ghosts were getting along very well with the class of humans. The kids were sent to bed upon the request of both parents and dancing of different generations were shown. The class was surprised when Danny and Tucker recreated the dancing scene from White Chicks.

They were even more surprised when Sam, Kitty and Ember belted out a Karaoke version of the Spice Girls Wannabe.

That was a real crowd pleaser.

"Ahem."

Slowly but surely the attention turned towards a tall white creature. It resembled both a bear and yeti at the same time, with a skeleton arm encased in ice.

If it weren't for the party or the fact that they saw him play a PG version of beer pong with Danny, Dash, and Kwan, the students would be terrified.

"As the celebration for the great one's birth continues, it is with great honor and pride that I present him with a gift from the far frozen."

Two other yeti like ghosts came by holding a small box between them. There was no need for it to be carried by both ghosts but Danny assumes it's more for show rather than anything else. He stared curiously at what was being presented to him as the audience did as well. Frostbite opened the small box with beautiful gold carvings and pulled out a small scroll.

"You shoulder great responsibility oh great one," the ghosts were used to the far frozen's clear favoritism and unyielding loyalty towards the halfa so they paid no mind to the nickname, the humans however, learned very quickly to not ask about the reasoning behind it. They felt like they wouldn't understand anyway.

"Between two worlds, you are a hero to both and somehow manage to be a great father and partner." Danny felt a blush form onto his cheeks as he felt a bit bashful with the praise, not really used to it. "It is to our understanding that you occasionally have access to Clockworks towers to view the screens?" At this Danny nodded, he did like going to his fathers place to not only spend time with him but to also keep an eye on things, in both worlds to be exact.

"Well ," opening the scroll Frostbite presented a map, split in half diagonally, "this map should make things easier for you."

Danny took hold of the map, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "With a command you get a view of either your home in the human world or your home here."

The young hero gaped at the map in front of him before saying, "Show me Amity Park". Suddenly, a green glow began to emit from the brown paper before dissolving and showing a random street, calm and no destruction around giving the hero a sense of relief.

"Now," the large ghost said, catching the attention of the birthday boy, "you cannot make contact with the other world. This is not what you humans call a cellular device. It's more of a - "

"Baby Monitor ?"

"If you say so, oh great one."

Danny stared again at the map in front of him, thinking of what was to come. Hearing the murmurs of others, both in awe and bewilderment, he rolled the scroll and gave a huge smile to Frostbite.

"Thank you Frostbite, this - this is amazing."

The ghost smiled before giving the box to the young hero, who quickly placed said gift inside before handing it to Berlin, muttering to take it to his study.

Soon after more gifts were handed out. Johnny 13 came out with a newly fixed motorcycle, something the audience assumed the two worked on together. Mr. Lancer and Jack were reminded how Danny was only just a kid the moment they saw his childlike wonder at the sight of said bike and once again when he got on there and revved the engine.

The bike was a model from last year, Jack couldn't remember the exact name but he knew it started with a "Y". It was black with Danny's logo right on the side. Jack thought it was funny that his son was into motorcycles or driving in general when he could fly.

Then a thought creeped up to the scientist, a thought that made bile rise up to his throat.

'I never taught my own son how to drive'

He felt himself clench his fist and force back a sob, being reminded yet again that he missed another milestone with his son.

Unbeknownst to him, a certain redhead stared with empathy in her eyes but not moving.

Time went by where ghosts alike gave the white haired teen more gifts. A guitar, a new computer, some new books about the ghost zone and more.

Finally, Clockwork came to his charge, the ghost he saw as the closest to ever being a son to him, a small smile on his face.

"Danny," the green eyed teen stared at his father, a look of trust within them both, "my gift to you is this."

He pulled a book from his cloak and upon closer inspection he saw that it was a photo album, causing him to have both a happy and sad feeling at the same time.

"A photo album?"

"You'll need it, in due time."

Danny gave the ghost in front of him a watery smile, before giving him a hug, "thank you," the young ghost whispered to him.

Once he let go, he opened the book and laughed softly at the first pic he saw.

It was him putting on the suit that started everything.

Sam and Tucker came up behind him as he flipped the pages and stopped when he saw the three of them in the middle of a laughing fest causing them to let out a small laugh. Every page filled with pictures of his makeshift family, causing his heart to swell up with joy.

Danny closed the book, remembering that they had an audience. Clearing his throat, he looked towards the crowd, "Thank you everyone for the gifts, this is a day I won't forget in a long time."

"Don't get mushy on us Phantom," yelled Johnny while others agreed along with him, emitting a laugh from the hero.

"Alright, alright let's continue the party."

As the music started up again with people going back to their mingling and he felt his hand being held by the love of his life, Danny turned and spared one last look at the time ghost.

But when he turned, his father figure was no longer there.

'It's time'

________________________________

Not going to lie this chapter kind of stumped me. I would just stare at the screen, hoping that what I was thinking would magically be put into words but unfortunately, this is the real world. Thankfully, i got it done though🤗 it might go through some edits though, not sure yet.

Anyway, this is still kind of a filler kind of not. We see certain hints of things that will be important later.

I know I'm taking awhile about Danny's party but it's worth it, I promise!

In this chapter, we see Danny and his presents. He deserves the attention when he's done so much. Ultimately, this was just about him.

Questions!

What do you guys think about Danny's gifts?

And Danny being so mysterious, I wonder what that's about?

Thank you guys for the comments, likes, votes and follows! I appreciate it so much I see them all and it makes me super happy! As always, I hope you enjoy the chapter and I will see you guys next time.

Lots of love 💚
