Chapter 23

It was quiet for a minute with Danny not lessening his grip on the sword and Mr. Lancer not moving an inch, scared that he might cause the Raven haired teen to lash at him with the dangerous weapon.

“What are you doing here.” It wasn't a question, as an English teacher Mr. Lancer knew that, but he was too scared to respond with an exact answer. “You're - you're Danny-,” Danny raised the sword higher, “that's not what I ask Mr.Lancer. What are you doing here?” He emphasized, his voice not wavering whatsoever.

Danny didn't want to treat his favorite teacher like this but he had no choice. He can't show weakness when his family could be in danger. No, this was something he had to do. “I - I came out to look for you two s -since you have taken a while to return. Everyone has fallen asleep and I had gotten worried of your absence..” he trailed off slightly, “Danny, get rid of the sword,” said teen glanced back at Sam before looking back at his teacher.

“You saw us transform, am I right?” He slightly lowered the sword to allow the teacher to relax a bit. “Y-yes I did,” at this response Danny raised the sword again to the teachers face where it had been before, a glare on his features as his eyes flashed green, “Then I assume you know the dangers of knowing a secret such as ours, correct?” Once again the teacher nodded rapidly, “You are my favorite teacher Mr. Lancer but I hope you understand that I will protect those I care about” inching the sword closer, “no matter the threat.”

“Danny!” Sam hissed from behind him, a glare fixed on her face. She understands the dangers but he didn't have go and threaten their teacher that way! For all they know he could go and blow their secret just because of this threat. “He has to understand that this isn't a joke Sam,” he said his voice cold meaning that he wasn't joking. “You need to keep this a secret Mr. Lancer or there will be consequences,” to emphasize the meaning of his sentence he made the ectoplasm on the sword glow slightly, almost like green flames.

Mr. Lancer can't believe his students were ghost! Much less Danny Phantom and Ava Thorn. He has so many questions that needed answers to but he can't ask right now when there's a sword shoved in his face. “Is that a threat Mr. Fenton?” He regretted it as soon as the sentence left his mouth especially when two crystal blue eyes turned green and formed another intense glare, “Anything to protect those I care about Mr. Lancer then yes it was a threat.”

Another minute passed with the three of them still, unmoving until the English teacher spoke again making both Halfas tense up. “ I won't tell your secret you have my word,” Danny eased up a bit until the teacher continued, “however, I would expect some answers from the both of you and Mr. Foley as well.”

“I would expect so but I will have my eye on you,” and with that said the sword was gone and so were the green eyes which we replaced with a crystal blue. “My apologies Mr. Lancer but please understand the circumstances and dangers my family could face if they found out who we are.” The teacher nodded slowly, “I suppose I do, they would probably throw your parents in jail-” Danny immediately cut him off, “No, no, no I'm not talking about Maddie and Jack I'm talking about my family. Tucker and Jazz would be in jail while Sam, Danielle, and I would be separated and shipped off to labs so we could be experimented on. I will not let that happen.”

Mr. Lancer nodded numbly before asking, “Who's Danielle?” Danny smiled along with Sam as they made their way back inside the library, “We’ll talk about this later Mr. Lancer, it's better if you get some sleep now it's late.” The teacher reluctantly agreed as he made his way to his previous spot and began to fall asleep but not before seeing Sam and Danny make themselves comfortable by their other friend and fall asleep.
