Chapter 10

"- and you see it really hurts so I was wondering if you can carry me? Pretty please?" Danny has just witnessed something he has never imagined before in his life half life. Paulina, the queen bee at Casper High and girlfriend of his bully, has just asked him to carry her through the ghost zone because her leg is injured. He could see Sam glare from behind the rich Hispanic seeing another girl flirt with him and stare at him in ways that made him uncomfortable unless they were from Sam.

"Um, Paulina? What about Dash? He's your boyfriend after all?" He glance over at his bully who was staring at an oblivious Leslie before looking back at the queen bee. She was staring at his chest or maybe it was his scars but that last one seemed doubtful.

Sam glanced down at her ring finger where a simple black band with white and green rhinestones. A simple small green diamond sat on top completing the beautiful engagement ring.

Danny and her had gotten engaged sometime in the middle of winter after Clockwork had announced that the new King needed a Queen. Sam knew nothing of this so when Danny presented her with the ring she was ...well ' shocked ' can't really explain the emotions Sam was feeling.

Closing her eyes Sam twirled the band around on her finger; a habit she had taken when she was feeling any type of negative emotion.

"Don't worry Sam he loves you and not her. You're engaged with him and she isn't. "

He looked up and saw his girlfriend reassuring herself; eyes closed and fist clenched, twirling the wedding ring he gave her. She looked up as soon as she felt someone staring at her and quickly saw Danny giving her a smile and a wink; making her return a small smile back.

"Dash is too busy to do it. He's weak compared to you actually. " Danny raised an eyebrow in doubt as he looked down at his body where his arms were crossed before looking at the quarterback. He merely let out a 'hmph' before looking at the two other jocks that seemed to join the blonde bully. Neither of the three were helping those that needed help, instead they were laughing at a nerd that had been trying to lift something too heavy for himself. Thankfully, before the poor guy hurt his back, Tucker had gone to help him.

"What about Kwan or Josh? They're pretty strong," he suggested motioning to the other two but only earning him a scrunch of the nose from the Hispanic. He felt the urge to roll his eyes but held it back remembering his manners. How could he ever like this girl, though? She's way too shallow that he's surprised that she doesn't even annoy herself. "Kwan is Star's boyfriend, I don't want to get in a fight with my best friend because of it. "

"Wow," Danny thought to himself as he felt his eyebrows raise in surprise, "for once she cares about someone other than herself. "

"And Josh...well he's too much. Even I can't handle it. "

Danny didn't know what to do. He understands that if he leaves her limping she'll slow down the group and she'll hurt herself more but Sam came first to him. Always. If she isn't fine with this he won't do it. Giving a sigh, he came up with a choice.

"Let me talk to Sam about this. "

This made Paulina burn with jealousy on the inside. He didn't need that witch to make a simple choice in life! He's 17 for crying out loud! Perfectly capable of making a choice, however she didn't let her jealousy show and kept a smile.

"We don't need to tell her I'm sure she'll understand. I mean I am hurt and besides I don't want to slow down the group. " She subtly came closer to him but he noticed her slight movement and instantly moved two feet back giving them a great amount of space.
