Hi everyone. I know it's been a while, two years to be exact. I'll talk more about that at the bottom but I did say I wasn't going to abandon this story and I won't. I love it too much to do that. So here's a new chapter that I hope you'll enjoy.

This chapter does contain a song that you can play to really get in the mood. You'll know when to start playing the song and it'll be a great experience. Once again I hope you enjoy it and I'll see y'all at the bottom 💚

Chapter 43

It's been a couple of hours since the party and everyone had gone to bed, the ghost had gone to their lairs to sleep for the last remaining hours before sunrise. The kids went to bed around 9pm when the party started to get a bit hectic but no one would be the one's to tell them that.

Yet, only one person remained.

As Sam walked around the ballroom in her purple shorts and an old shirt she stole from Danny, she emptied leftover red cups that she was positive contained a drink that was for sure spiked. She sent the ghost that helped around the palace to bed. They had helped more than enough with the large turnout of the party; the least she could do was pick up the trash.

"Do you need help?"

The young girl turned around slightly startled but relaxed when she saw her dark haired boyfriend. She smiled at him, a laugh escaping her as she held out a trash bag, " Surprised to see you're still awake."

It wasn't a surprise, she knew that Danny would have trouble sleeping with all the stress he carries with him but she wasn't about to bring that up after celebrating his birthday. They can go back to the real world tomorrow.

He took the bag from her with a smile as he stepped in stride to her pace, picking up trash along with her. "I couldn't sleep," he admitted as he gave her a quick glance before frowning at the gross mixture of what was obviously rum, soda, and possibly ectoplasm in one of the clear cups that Sam was showing him.

"That's disgusting."

"I dare you to drink it."

"I'd rather die again."

They both laughed at their banter before their conversation continued. From talking about their wedding, to talking about their graduation and their kids, they made their way across the ballroom picking up the mess.

"You know," Danny said as he picked up some plates that had someone's dentures on them, making him gag, " this is so unsanitary and I might sound high maintenance  but we have ghosts that can help us with this."

"Yeah," Sam said as she tied their fourth bag and opened a new one, "I know but I don't mind doing this, it feels kind of therapeutic and they need to rest too after dealing with us."

He nodded in agreement. That's true, he thought. They stayed quiet for a bit and it wasn't until Danny found a third pair of underwear that he decided that enough was enough.

"Okay, no, no we're not touching anything else," he dropped the last of the trash in the bag and made his telekinesis take care of the last of what was left in the room.

Sam laughed, she made sure to leave all the gross things to him because there was no way she was going to be touching any of that. Besides it was always so funny seeing Danny get grossed out by things.

"Why are some ghosts so gross?" He wondered as he wiped his hands clean before passing the towel to Sam, who did the same.

Sam only hummed, "Not all ghosts and besides for all we know they could have been some of our classmates, they're pretty disgusting too." Danny gave her some finger-guns as he nodded, "you're right."
