Chapter 16
“Hey,” Tucker interjected quickly as soon as he saw Valerie open her mouth, “we're Danny's best friends, we love him and we make sure he doesn't do anything too dangerous and if he does we're there with him. ”
“Best Friends make sure that none of them get in trouble especially with a gang!” Valerie’s words only seemed to anger the two leaders more but instead of replying they decided to turn the cheek and continued walking. They were, after all, wasting time which is something Danny would not like.
“Hey! Where are you going?!” Tucker winced a bit, he thought Valerie had changed with what happened to her but it only seems she got worse. Stubborn, demanding, annoying. He can't believe he used to have a crush on her. Now, it's like she has to be right no matter how false her assumptions were.
As Danny flew he remembered about the Fenton earphones and quickly turned them on. He hoped someone in the group had them on,more specifically he hoped Sam and Tucker had them on.
“Hey-”, he was about to ask them where they were at when he heard a few voices from the other end of his ear piece.
“You know I'm right which is why you're walking away!”
Danny was confused to why Valerie was acting out; she only began lashing out when she wanted to win another argument about how Phantom ruined her precious life. He only hoped it wasn't that because he was tired of hearing the same old story and was actually considering the idea of turning off the earpiece when another sentence decided to make it's way through the little machine and into his ear.
“ I doubt that he's in a gang but if he is and if you actually loved him like you say you do then you wouldn't let him do something so stupid as to go into a gang!”
A scowl immediately went onto his lips as he continued hearing with a sudden echo to Valerie’s voice, meaning he was close to where they were at, so he decided to land onto the rocky pavement and change back into Fenton. How he would love to stay in his ghost form but he was in no mood to be pestered by questions from anyone about his ghost half.
Danny began to walk, his scowl never leaving his face as he turned the ear phone off when he began to hear arguing coming from a few feet in front of him.
Hearing gasps coming from the walking students as soon as they saw him; he maneuvered between them to get to the front, where he saw Sam and Tucker ignoring a red face Valerie and a smirking Josh. Danny only stood behind both; waiting for the perfect time to make his appearance known.
“You guy's don't care about him at all! Josh is right, he's not in a gang but you both know what's actually going on with him so you might as well tell the truth and let people who actually love him help him get out of whatever it is he's in. ”
“He's probably using drugs I mean with how moody he's getting -”
“Gee,” Danny started making both Josh and Valerie turn their heads around in shock, “ If you guys have something to say I'd rather have you guys say it to my face instead of interrogating my friends. ”
With that he moved towards his two best friends who held a smile towards him but worry was showing in their eyes. Danny only gave them a small, tired smile ‘I'll tell them in a bit,’ he thought before he responded to the two questioning teenagers, “ Valerie as much as you love to be right; you're wrong. ”
She blinked twice in surprised as red tinted her dark cheeks in embarrassment, ‘ That's impossible … Danny can't be in a gang. H-he’s too sweet and kind to be in something like THAT!’
