Chapter 38
Nobody moved for a couple of seconds as they all saw the redhead that was presumed missing.
Danny stared at his sister, tears leaking and the look of surprise on his face.
“I see your secrets been revealed.”
Danny only nodded numbly, not really knowing what to say.
However, his facial expression changed into a serious one and he picked up his sword, causing many to look at him in disbelief and confusion.
Jazz, seeing this, didn't waver her smile. In fact, she almost looked fond of the action.
“How do I know you're the real Jazz?”
Call him paranoid, but Danny has had way too many incidents of look-alikes that he can't be too careful.
“Now why did I know you were going to do this?”
“What can I say? Traumas don't go away too easily.”
Raising his sword higher and taking a couple of steps forward, he glared slightly at the person in front of him. The guards surrounding him did the same.
“Now, how can I know it's really you?”
Jazz sighed before answering, “Okay, well there was a time when we were kids that you wanted to be a rockstar. And Dad got you a toy guitar and an outfit,” she smiled and giggled softly at the memory, her eyes far away from the present.
“And oh my God, you painted your face with the weirdest eyeliner designs because you thought it was 'cool’!” She couldn't help it, she started laughing with others following before she composed herself. “You performed for me and Mr. Bearbert and your big finale was smashing the guitar on the ground. For some reason when you brought it back up to smash it again, you hit your face and gave yourself your first black eye.”
Danny was blushing as he heard the laughter of his classmates and family.
“Okay you can stop-”
“Oh but the best part about the whole thing was that he blamed the guitar and put in time out.”
“Oh God, please don't tell-”
“The time out was in the trash and he never told Dad about it, made me promise to never tell.”
“Jazz!”
Everyone was full on laughing now, making the young hero blush slightly harder but he didn't care.
His sister was back.
“Is that enough proof for you, you dork?”
Absorbing his weapon, he smiled happily as a laugh escaped him before quickly rushing over to hug his sister. The action caused a giggle out of her before she began to squeal the moment Danny picked her up and began to spin her around chanting, “You're back!”
Once Belen saw the young prince hug the girl he realized the lack of danger, thus telling the other guards to go back to their original positions. Smiling as he went along with them, knowing that his future king was finally having a good time.
Jazz laughed happily as she tried to wiggle out of his grasp but having no success. “Danny careful with the baby,” she said with a smile before be placed gently down.
Danny felt his eyes go comically wide at that, “baby?” He questioned softly as he stared at her, giving her enough time to correct him but she never did. Instead she smiled, the glow of a pregnant woman finally seeping through to everyone. Slowly she removed her large black coat that covered a small baby bump that couldn't be more than 5 months.
