Chapter 25

Valerie glared at the glowing red eyes of the stupid thing that was in front of her. How dare it looks so innocent when it was quite the contrary. How dare it give her food and water when she absolutely hated the being and he knew that. How dare it looks so… pathetically adorable when she should be shooting the thing.

It was 7:30, the class had woken up a while ago and were now finally being fed. They were surprised to find a happy Danny, who seemed unaware of yesterday's events but this trip has taught each of them that looks could be deceiving and for all they know the crystal blue eyed teenager did know but was hiding it. However, he could also be happy about something Sam whispered to him causing them to hug but one would never know.

That wasn't the only surprise though. When they had woken up they found a picnic basket filled with food and a couple of water bottles next to a small green puppy.

Flashback

“Alright guys,” Danny had said as the puppy circled around him, “this is -” it was at the moment that Valerie had decided to yell about the Ghost dog, thus resulting for the young pup to grow its monstrous size and growl at the potential threat.

This only made things worse causing the students and teacher to scream while his parents cursed at their lack of weapons.

“Cujo Ferse.” (1)

Immediately, the dog had stopped growling and sat down as soon as he heard the stern command. The students stopped screaming and stared at Danny. “Cujo is German, I taught him to listen to me and only occasionally Tucker and Sam.”

“Don't forget Danielle.”

Danny nodded before continuing, “Cujo has brought us food from the human world, however,” he stopped them from cheering in happiness, “considering that he's just a puppy and well a dog, he can't count so I'm not sure if they'll be enough for everyone singularly so we'll have to share.”

Ignoring the pouts if some students he turned to Valerie, “Whatever issue you have with Phantom and Cujo leave it behind, okay Valerie?” The girl glared at the Raven haired teen, “That stupid dog ruined my life all because of Phantom and him I lost everything.”

“If that's what you think fine, but don't let your pride get in the way of eating.”

Flashback Ends

It was the last thing Danny said to her before he began passing out semi even cut up sandwiches and some water bottles. Now she sat there angrily chewing on her piece of a sandwich as Cujo stared at her with puppy eyes, begging for a piece of food.

“No,” she stated after finishing off her piece, “ I waited too long for food and I am not about to give it to a dead dog who can't even process it through its digestive system.” He began giving a small whimper and tried to come closer only to have her push him away with her foot making his whimpers come out in squeals.

Everyone only watched in silence knowing that if they intervened things would only get worse.

“Cujo komm her.” (2)

The pup immediately perked up and ran towards Danny who gave him his piece of a sandwich. The pup ate happily making Danny smile at the sight. Sam smiled at both before turning to give a small glare at the secret hunter.

“Listen Valerie,” she stated slowly, “I get that you hate ghost but you can't treat them all the same. Not all ghost are bad. “The hunter frowned, “all ghost are bad, especially that one.”
