"Kashton what-" I stop talking when I hear the three beeps, indicating he hung up on me. I huff, plopping down on my bed. I sit there confused, glancing at my alarm clock. It's only ten thirty, who knows what Kashton wants to do at this time.

Oh and bring something you can get wet in.

What was that even supposed to mean? Am I skeptical? Very. But my damn curiosity gets the best of me.

I look at Koda who's wrestling with some toy he brought in. He trots to my side, placing the toy at my feet. I pick it up and throw it out of the room, closing the door after the crazy dog goes to chase after it.

It quickly opens again, revealing the rat I call a brother. "Hey Vayda?" Zion walks in, not bothering to look up from his phone.

"What do you want?"

"Well, you see. Dad took my car away, because apparently I'm grounded-" I roll my eyes. Why am I not surprised? "-and I really have somewhere to be so I need to use your car."

"No."

"Vayda, please? I really need to use it."

"So you can meet up with some girl?" I raise an eyebrow. "No, I am not going to let you use my car as a place to do God knows what," I scrunch up my nose.

"Oh c'mon," Zion groans. "If you let me use it, I'll pick up Dayton everyday until Christmas break."

Damn that's tempting, he must really need a car to use. After having an interbattle, I smirk at him, "my answer is still no." His hopeful face falls into a scowl. "I need to use it anyway. I have somewhere to be."

"Really?" Zion leans on against the door frame. "Where could you possibly be going?"

"Like I'm telling you. Now out of my room, go bug someone else."

After a lot of debating, I pack a small bag. I grab it along with my phone and car keys. I stop in the kitchen to fill up a water bottle, "Hey Monica? I'm going to go out with a friend. If Dad asks, do you mind relaying the message?"

"Of course sweetheart. Have fun!"

The ten minute ride is filled with trying to figure what the hell Kashton wants to be doing. But before I know it, I'm pulled into Kashton's driveway. It takes me a minute but I soon build up the courage to get out. I ring the doorbell and step back, distracting myself by looking at the house across the street.

"Hello? Can I help you?"

Startled, I turn and look at the small girl in front of me. "Oh, hi Kate-"

"Katelin Foster! What did I tell you about answering the door?" Jens small figure rushes into view. With her hands on her hips and a towel in hand, she scolds her daughter with a disapproving look.

Kate pouts her lip and points up to me, "But it's only Kash's friend."

Jen looks up at me, her deplore look turns into one of contentment. "Vayda! Oh honey, it's good to see you again. You here for Kashton?" she doesn't give me a chance to respond before she continues her ramble. "That boy has been up to no good today, whatever you two do today, watch after him yeah?"
