Quean- A women of bad character.

I block out the sound of my classmates as they begin to fill the room, but flinch unintentionally when a loud group of boys take their seats a few over from mine.
I don't do good with loud noises.
I take a deep breath. It's close to the end of the day and I couldn't be more excited to get away from here.
Taking out my notebook and start to do today's warm up, looking up at the window once in a while, watching as the snowflakes begin to fall down bigger and heavier.
Focus, I scold myself. Everyone was still either to arrive or were talking in their groups, and neither Logan or Kashton are here yet so I'm doing the warm ups now to keep myself occupied. The sooner I can get them done the better anyways.
Someone sits down in the chair in front of mine, facing towards me. Tightening my hold on my pencil, I try not to groan out loud. Instead I put a smile on my face and look up at b.b. "Yes?"
"We need to have a little chit chat," b.b. scrunches her nose and glances over to her group of friends that are staring right back at us.
"I'm not interested. Not in the mood to hear you talk shit about me today."
"And you say I'm the self absorbed one." She rolls her eyes, picking at her pink nails. "Not everything is about you, Vayda. I just have a message I need you to pass on."
"To who?" I already know that this conversation is pointless. All the things that I would do right now to get away from b.b. would make a long list. Looking at the clock, we still have a few minutes before the bell rings.
"Your little friend. Parker."
"Porter?"
"Yeah him."
"What about him?" I raise an eyebrow. What did Porter get himself into this time?
"You see my cousin -Maddie- over there?" she nods to a blonde girl, who is biting her lip nervously as she watches us but quickly looks down at her desk when we make eye contact. "Tell him to stay away from her. She doesn't need him following her around like a lost puppy. He isn't going to help her reputation."
I snort. One it's funny because knowing Porter he probably is following Maddie around like a lost puppy, and two, b.b.s attempt of being intimidating is hilarious. "Or what?"
"I can make his life a living hell," she smiles.
A laugh slips out of me, "Wow you sound like a thirteen year old girl."
She scowls. "Is there a problem here lady's?" Kashton asks, as he and Logan appear before b.b. gets the chance to say anything else.
"Nope not at all," she sends a flirtatious smile towards the boys. B.b. sends me a point look, "I'll talk to you guys later."
She stands up after that and makes her way back over to her little group of friends.
"That girl gives me a headache," Logan sighs, rubbing his temples.
"Are you okay Vayda?" Kashton questions holding eye contact with me.
"Yeah," I look away. "She's just a bitch and can't learn to keep to herself."
Though I can't help the smile that grows on my face. Am I going to attack Porter with questions later? Yes. I can't believe that he didn't tell me he has a little crush on Maddie.
I approve of Maddie too. She's a sweet girl, really quiet and likes to keep to herself. That's why we've worked well together the few times we've had to. The only reason she hangs around b.b. is because she's her cousin. But so far she has been nothing like her cousin.
"Afternoon," Mr. Clark mutters as he finally walks into the room. "Since I don't feel like teaching today I want everyone to get into groups and read the next three chapters. After I want you to choose someone from those chapters and your group will make a project on them, I'll pass out a paper with more information."
I groan, I've always disliked projects. Especially group ones.
"Aww don't give us that Sugar, we are going to make the best project out there!"
Yup I'm sure that's what it's going to be.

"You little asshole," I shove Porter's shoulder playfully when I get to our lockers.
"Ow," he rubs shoulder dramatically. "What did I do this time?"
"You never told me you liked Maddie."
Kinzley gasps, before squealing in excitement. Porter bites his lip, looking around the empty halls, like he's afraid someone would hear him. "I don't like her, you make it sound like we're in middle school. Who even told you that?"
"B.b."
"And you believed her?"
"Well the look on your face tells me she was right."
Porter scoffs, shoving my shoulder playfully before walking off. I share a look with the rest of the group and smile, feeling something that I'm not used to. Everything was going well and I didn't know what to think about it. But deep down, I'm worried this happy feeling isn't going to last long.
It never does.

Swinging my feet in the air as I lay down on Logan's bed, I proofread the little slideshow that we have put together. With the boys next to me, Logan keeps sighing dramatically to get my attention. When he doesn't get it, he finally just shuts the laptop. "Hey!"
"C'mon Sugar, we've been doing this for over an hour," he complains. "Let's take a break."
"And do what?" I roll my eyes, reopening the laptop.
"I duno, what about a movie?"
"I don't-"
"Yep it's settled, come on Kash, you we'll go pop some popcorn." Kashton grins and jogs out of the room, flowing behind Logan.
After some more proofreading, my phone suddenly buzzes. I quickly glance down and roll my eyes when I see Little Shithead aka Zion pop up on the screen. I silence the phone and go back to my book. Seconds later it rings again, with a groan, I answer the call. "What do you want?"
"Vayda you need to get out here now," Zion's voice is stern but it's laced with concern.
"We have returned with your popcorn and drink, your majesty!" Logan and Kashton burst through the door with arms filled with junk food, but they stop short when they see my uncertain expression."Why? What's going on?"
"It's mom."
