“(The righteous are those) who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of God, saying: ‘We feed you for the sake of God Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.” –76:8-9
Our Prophet ﷺ said
“Feed the hungry, visit the sick and set free the captives.” ••Bukhari ______________
Words are sweet, but cannot take the place of food
Words are very powerful... a gentle reply to a person who is angry can turn away the person's anger
But at best, words can only turn away anger••not hunger
When someone is hungry, the most unfair and unkind thing to do for them, is to try to fill them with words.
★ Words are no substitute for food. Not even empathy is a solution to hunger. The only solution to hunger is food
★ It's dangerous to try to please people with words when they are hungry.. a hungry man is often an angry man
There is a time to philosophize and a time to be practical.
When people are starving, philosophy is the last thing on their mind
